I've found myself writing long posts like that before but the point of being in a discussion is having a discussion. I'd always leave things out to encourage someone to reply and ask "What?" He'd just lay out so many different things that you couldn't really respond without multiple posts. It's like trying to refute a book with a few sentences. You kind of need another book and he shielded himself from criticism by making it about writing stamina more than any individual point.
