War Room Lounge v68: The insidious rumour of Belgium

I gave up around the half way point of the last lounge thread. Are we still talking about who is and isn't a race traitor?

Anyone who uses a 4-letter acronym itt(!) gets an ICBM to the dome.

...starting now.

We should give Jalen Ramsay a raise for injuring Reek. He and his son can now have matching casts

CMC could be UFC champ with 4 months training:

The Bears STILL suck

Trubiscuit is NOT a franchise QB contrary to @zebby23 and his proclamations

Fuck the Seahawks

The Browns are not for real

The Browns just need to settle the fuck down. Baker was getting desparate because his fucking defense and offense were getting golden showered in flags.

I was in Belgium last month.

Brussels sucks. High diversity and dirty streets.

Can you explain why "high diversity" is a turnoff for you?

I'm being sincere. If you were going there to immerse yourself in a distinct historical culture - like, say, going to Southern Iran to admire Persian culture or going to Italy to admire former Rome - I guess I would get why having immigrants and, er, racial minorities would possibly cut into the experience. But....it's Belgium. Were you really going there expecting everyone to be Dr. Evil-sounding chocolate connoisseurs or what?

Also, kind of a cool thing about Belgium that I didn't know until recently: despite being teeny tiny, it's the most linguistically diverse country in Europe. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1023/A:1024419522867.

One of the most annoying things when I travel to Mexico is the Mexicans that hang out on the beach trying to sell things. The police need to clear them out of the beach. It’s annoying. I’m here trying to relax in the pool drinking my beer and like 40 feet away is some Mexican waving at me and everyone else in the pool to buy his colourful scarfs for sale.

I imagine it’s the same in Europe. People travel to Europe to see Europe and European people and aren’t enthusiastic when they see groups of Somalian and Pakistani people instead. If you went to Pakistan would you want to see British Ginger’s? No.

Socialist free drugs for the poor, tax the middle class 99%, tranny twerk for toddlers, no borders loving troll bring it here. You know who you are. No need to even tag you. Bring it.

You know what's not normal? People used to be more nuanced with their euphemisms. "High Diversity" is *barely* a dog whistle in this context. The pretense and deniability are gone. They don't even feel like they need to disguise the bigotry.

I don't like going to tourists spots and dealing with loud obnoxious from China Chinese tourists yelling at each other in Mandarin or whatever the fuck of the 40 different version of Chinese exists that they are playing.

Chinese are the worst tourists closely followed by the British. Both are way too loud but at least the British won’t cut ahead of you in line.

Get with the times bro

My advice, then, would be to not go to tourist spots. Those are kind of, you know, built to attract foreign travelers.

I actually have a friend from Ireland who made the same gripe about visiting Paris and running into a group of Chinese tourists that she thought was obnoxiously talking in Mandarin. Meanwhile, she can't speak French and, like most Irish girls, is a heavy partier and not particularly subtle.

oh, I started a thread on this very topic in the Mayberry

Like normally where I go (or would go if I could afford it) is like Alaska, Yellowstone, the Alps and shit and I personally tend to avoid the touristy stuff.

I was speaking more for how loud they get. I don't care about foreign language but I remember as a kid wondering if all Chinese people were hard of hearing cause the tourists are always yelling.

Disclaimer: this is not a racist thread, and I know this doesn't apply to all Chinese tourists...**** mods, just chill and hear me out.

And to my Chinese Sherbros, I mean no disrespect to your people.

So over the course of the last 3 years I've been traveling a great deal. And on occasion on trip advisor and other travelling sites I will come across a pretty racist review about Chinese folk

"...the tour was great, but the Chinese tourists were so rude and every where ..."

I never thought anything of it and usually dismiss such observations because of my racial background.

Well...

Yesterday, I went on an all day kayaking excursion to many of the small islands on the outskirts of Phuket.

They split you up into two large boats/groups and it takes about about an hour to get to your destination ...

Prior to boarding us, our thai tour guide takes me and the better half to the side and says, "I'm sorry, but your trip is going to be very loud."

I'm thinking, no big deal, and thought he was referring to the engines.

He then says, "there are a lot of Chinese on your boat. They are very loud. And they have children...much much louder ."

I'm thinking to myself , how bad could it possibly be...

Well, it was terrible ...the children were way out of control screaming running around the boat the entire time...
And when it came time for the buffet , they loaded entire plate fulls of certain items rather than taking modest portions .

On the 2nd part of the tour, a different thai guide informed me (and this is all unsolicited info) that all of the guides try to claim or volunteer to be guides for americans, aussies, Japanese, Koreans, Russians etc...
He said that the guides take turns in selecting chinese...or draw straws.

I have heard that about the Chinese, that as tourists and students they can be very problematic. I haven't experienced it myself though.

That said I don't think he was talking about tourists, I think he was talking about the non-whites who live in Brussels.

Yea, after the tour was over, we went back to our resort and I immediately Googled, "why do people hate..."

and it auto filled for me, I'm not kidding. Google Autofilled, "Chinese Tourists."

I was thinking, WTF?!?!

then I did some Youtubing.

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=thai+women+venting+about+chinese+tourists

apparently it's a thing.

from my understanding, it's predominately Chinese from the mainland. apparently, there was an explosion of the Middle class in China. and people who lived liked Paupers, came into a lot of money.

not Hong Kong or Taiwan.
