And aside from that, it's better to address arguments rather than try to demonstrate that you don't need to think because people who disagree with you are evil monsters (and unfortunate tendency on the right today).

That's from the identitarians (who are white nationalists). At least the earliest reference I can find is Guillaume Faye in a speech from 2005 in Moscow.

Edit: Actually he coined it in his book, Archeofuturism, which he published in 1998.

OK, let's put the broader issue aside for a second. I think that you might not be aware that "ethnomasochist" is a white supremacist term for whites who are not racists. If you don't believe me, do your own research, and I'm confident you'll see that (links from AmRen, VDare, and other racist sites). And then I'd recommend reflecting on why they use the term and what you're (maybe inadvertently) communicating by using it yourself.

And BTW, as it happens, I'm in the middle of Kafka on the Shore right now, and wow. It's really amazing. This is only my second book of his, but he's shooting to near the top of my favorite author list.

My wife makes an incredible okonomiyaki, had it for supper last night. Pork belly, shrimp, scallops, cabbage, savory sweet sauce, seaweed, bonito, and Japanese mayo to tie it all together. It looks something like this though it doesn't really do it justice,

interesting, I gave that another read recently. What I've noticed is that Murakami does have a interest in cats...or looking for lost cats.

when I read Kafka on the Shore the first time, I thought, "wait...didn't we do this before? finding a lost cat?" but like you said it is a great novel.

I dont' know if there is (or ever will be) a film adaptation of his novels...

but I wonder which director could execute it.

David Lynch or Terry Gilliam maybe? (because they too have wild imaginations)

we didnt' have that show back in the home country, or Brady Bunch, or Partridge family.

I did end up catching some reruns when I came stateside.

the Sammy Davis episode and the one where Archie Bunker gets a new black neighbor were among my faves.
