India: Police warn Hindu man for rejecting Muslim Zomato driver

Seems a bit odd to punish a man for refusing service but in India where communal tensions are high I can understand that. Plus this guy seems like a cunt anyway so not like I feel bad for him.

Do you guys think restricting speech and expression in the name of averting communal tensions and violence is legitimate?
What i got from this is you can violate the Indian constitution every six months

This is an even more infuriating phenomenon when it comes to environmental remediation. Companies dump millions of pounds of toxic sludge into the environment, the government spends hundreds of millions of dollars cleaning it up, and then, if you're lucky and you can actually pin it on corporation, they only have a few hundred thousand on hand and dissolve themselves. Usually, just as much in public money is spent on litigating who is at fault as is spent on the actual remediation.

Yes I touched upon that problem here in this thread about Google (Alphabet) Sidewalks division of the conglomerate offering a solution that would clean up arguably some of the most valuable water front real estate in Toronto that developers have not touched for decades due to all the toxic soup that was dumped in the ground by big shipping companies, who racked in their profits and then left the land to the city and tax payers to remediate.

Such sites exist all over.

Whether or not you agree with private companies getting this deeply involved in what historically would be a gov't responsibility is not the point here. Gov't is not doing this, in many sites around the world, abdicating their responsibility up front to ensure the profit taking companies pay enough to clean up any mess they leave when done, and then actually spending the money to do the clean up.

This is absolutely a problem of gov't because without the protections they grant corp in terms of limited liability the companies would be sued into oblivion when they leave such toxic messes behind.

What happened to my beloved Corps?

The 38th Color Sergeant of the Marine Corps has been given a warning after it was discovered he was burning loose threads off of Martines’ uniforms while they were still wearing them.

Sgt. Francis Frazier is accused of “maliciously” burning two junior Marines of the Color Guard Platoon, all while squaring away their uniforms.

According to an investigation document, one Marine protested the burning of loose threads while the uniform was being worn, and asked Frazier what his first sergeant would think of the matter.

“Sgt Frazier responded that he thought [his first sergeant] would have his back and continued to try to remove the [loose thread],” the investigator wrote of Frazier. “At that point, he accidentally burned the Marine’s neck slightly. Sgt Frazier did not believe that this was serious and went about his business.”

Interestingly enough, the Marine who was burned did not feel Fraizer was acting maliciously or attempting to haze him in any way.

Task & Purpose reported that officials at the DC-based Marine Barracks Washington did not seek to remove Frazier, and simply suggested that the sergeant receive a non-punitive letter of caution, which does not get added to a Marine’s official record.

A safety stand-down has been suggested for the barracks, in order “to talk about the situation, repair the relationships that were damaged, and discuss the appropriate way to address issues which may develop into a hazing situation.”

Yeah they're really handling their color sergeants with super soft kid gloves. "Non-punitive letter of caution"? What is this shit, kindergarten? They need to toughen these guys up if they're going to call them "leaders." Make his office chair ass paint rocks or something.

Wait, have you guys realized that you can pretty much have garlic bread whenever you want?

That ain't shit compared to my time heading up the Chamberlain Gangster Families. I rebuilt that shit from the grove up. Even ran down a train with my big homie to pop some fools, shit was high speed.

Remember, this lady couldn't make Detroit one iota better. She actually made it worse.

It's like walking into a house fire and walking out having somehow called down a meteor.

The goal was never to make detroit better. It was to cut public education and push for charter schools so that public money can go to private hands. With republicans the script changes sometimes but the goal is always a heist
