So, I get the whole “no tolerance for slurs thing”... I really do. And
I support it.

But... just to clarify, I can say something like, “Jews run the world and pay off all elected leaders” [which is a sentiment I don’t agree with but have heard voiced MANY times on here] and that’s totally kosher (sorry I can’t not) according to the rules of the forum... but parenthesis are automatic infractions?

This goes with a lot of speech on this forum, by the way; people are allowed to explicitly spell out the hateful ideas that the slurs indicate.

I’m not complaining. I’m just saying, we all inhabit some interesting contradictions. That’s life, I guess.

Just had a related convo with sniper on this.

I should be allowed to use homophobic slurs.
Agreed. I got in an argument with the mods over the n word. It's part of my culture. Sherdog is making it impossible for me to Express myself the way I want. The worst kind of oppression there is.

The context really is everything, isn't it? Anonymous shit on the interwebs isn't really going to bother me much. In person? That probably wouldn't be good, but it's never happened and very likely won't (pussy). What's more 'offensive', a disparaging slur or "evil, perverted, mentally ill, danger to the nation and destroying western culture"?

Hmm. I have a lot of fun with that last one though.

No, repeatedly spamming anti-semitic CTs also isn't allowed and is more likely to result in a ban.
Sarcastic use of triple parentheses doesn't usually get you an immediate infraction either (not everyone realises it's included as a slur). First you get warned, but if you keep doing it of course that's an infraction.

Whoa, I'd never heard that. Really interesting. Just recently, I was discussing in another thread how Islamic property law is heavily informed by the arid and sometimes agriculturally inhospitable conditions of the Middle East.

Many of the old testament Jewish laws deal with hygiene and sanitation that would have been beneficial for the tribes at their time and location.

I also saw a vid from a professor about how many of the origins of various 'do not eat' laws he was able to find evidence of livestock or crop diseases at the approximate time that book was written. The shell fish one I remember as being a higher rate of leading to diarrheal illnesses. In a wandering camp such as Jewish tribes, this doesn't only lead to that poor blokes stool problem and dehydration, but spreads multiple other diseases much easier and can lead to an outbreak.

Lol. Yet it was a penis in the meme thread that finally took out Abig

He focused on criticising Israel and CTs that didn't involve antisemitism, even if it was clear to everyone.
Takes a while to build up a definitive case that'll convince people that don't spend all their time reading the forum.
Of course once they are banned in those cases they aren't welcome back.
Funnily enough a lot of the antisemitism that's posted comes from the same guy in southern England.

It’s an en environmental thing. Pigs tend to till the soil when looking for food etc and on a large scale in an already dry desert climate, it leads to desertification. That’s what a history teacher told me, at least.

Goats are worse.
I give more credit to the trichinosis idea (or diseases that are communicable between pigs and humans).

Chris rock brilliantly explains this .

@Lead @waiguoren

Pretty basic but this is what I was describing before re Z.

I always have trouble getting my knee back in. For some reason it makes my hip hurt, the one attached to whichever knee I am trying to get in, and it always feels like a struggle. Perhaps it's because I have a long torso and short femurs? Don't know, but I always had trouble with it.

This relates to what I was saying before. In most times and places, liberalism would get you killed. People collectively figure out what the right thing to do is without knowing why it's the right thing, and people who question that get pulled in line by social pressure. But then building a body of knowledge and institutionalizing liberalism is what has led to the explosive growth in living standards over the past couple hundred years.

Do you mean on the top leg, as in getting the knee into his hip. Or do you mean the bottom leg losing its grip on his leg?

Getting the knee into the hip. Not necessarily in that position either, but just generally. For example, in the basic escape from side control.

Yeah that seems strange, with side mount you are using the opposite leg and the position / angle of the hip is different. Maybe its any direct framing pressure on the hip that does it?

You and @Trotsky's stretches of anything that is good in the world is liberal and everything that is bad is conservative truly knows no bounds

It just never seems like I can shrimp enough to be sure that my knee is going to get in.

Uhhhh, Jack isn't talking about liberalism in terms of American partisan groupings. He's talking about liberalism as a broad historical movement/era that departed from feudalism/monarchism, favoring liberty, equality, rationality, and personal rights to things like property, privacy, and freedom. It would seem like it's you that is projecting partisanship onto it.

Also, I'm not a liberal.

I have gotten Filipino, Hawaiian, Chinese, and Mexican...all quite frequently.
Frequently? Under what circumstances do you find yourself frequently told/asked your ethnicity? Honest question. My wife is an immigrant from Japan and it seems she's only asked about this when interacting with other immigrants. I'm just curious about your experiences, I guess. According to my wife, asking a visible minority, "Where are you from?" is only inoffensive if an immigrant does it. Do you concur?
