Man, some of the posts in the GirlsDoPorn thread (women are paid for porn videos they are told will be private and not distributed to the public, and then....well, you can guess what happens) are really depressing, and they're a great example of the constant friction in some dudes' minds between being logical and empathetic and reconciling their angst over not being romantically successful.

Like...the idea that someone would be fine with girls like that being conned and having their lives ruined because they personally find sex for money to be unsavory is disgusting and pathetic.

That old circular thing where men are entitled to sex, but women that have sex are sluts, and sluts deserve punishment, but they are supposed to have sex, and that makes them sluts, which means they should be punished for sex.....
Any time women take ownership of the process at any stage, a certain type of dude gets completely out of sorts. Porn is a job. Anyone dealing falsely with employees or potential employees should be taken to task over it.

It's just strikingly unhealthy thinking. What's even more disturbing to me than the guys whose horrifying positions on it are due to their own inadequacy and sexlessness are the guys (of which there must be a considerable amount) who do have healthy sex lives, do have healthy social lives, and yet still maintain such contradictory and dehumanizing positions.

I swam and took dogs in two of the three waters under advisory so clearly this is fake news. It's fucked to think those places are being hit by this. I can't imagine it being anything but agricultural runoff (with a nice dose of climate change).

It’s an en environmental thing. Pigs tend to till the soil when looking for food etc and on a large scale in an already dry desert climate, it leads to desertification. That’s what a history teacher told me, at least.

Goats are worse.
I give more credit to the trichinosis idea (or diseases that are communicable between pigs and humans).

Whoa, I'd never heard that. Really interesting. Just recently, I was discussing in another thread how Islamic property law is heavily informed by the arid and sometimes agriculturally inhospitable conditions of the Middle East.

It’s an often overlooked connection, but religion is very much a product of people’s environment and their interaction with it.

Aboriginals are a good example, their myths might seem silly to a westerner but they provide a roadmap of the environment the tribes live in.
 
So, I get the whole “no tolerance for slurs thing”... I really do. And
I support it.

But... just to clarify, I can say something like, “Jews run the world and pay off all elected leaders” [which is a sentiment I don’t agree with but have heard voiced MANY times on here] and that’s totally kosher (sorry I can’t not) according to the rules of the forum... but parenthesis are automatic infractions?

This goes with a lot of speech on this forum, by the way; people are allowed to explicitly spell out the hateful ideas that the slurs indicate.

I’m not complaining. I’m just saying, we all inhabit some interesting contradictions. That’s life, I guess.
