War Room Lounge v64

Nobody has ever really shown me a case where self defense wasn't adequate and Stand You Ground was needed.

Had anyone been prosecuted for failure to retreat prior to the change?

Read your post wrong I guess. My initial post in reference to his where I mentioned disdain was because I thought some people would lash out at him. Trump is very hated by those that post in the Lounge, anything Trump related and is almost always met with hostility.
you're breaking kayfabe, sketch.

The problem isn't that anything with Trump is reflexively met with hostility, its that most of the people arguing here do so in obvious bad faith. The honest right leaning posters are rarely met with hostility, even when challenged on their beliefs.

That was a huge problem with the Martin/Zimmerman debacle. Is there something with FL that drives them to over-prosecute?
Prosecutors trying to make a name for themselves. Although I believe manslaughter was also an option during that trial and Zim Zam was found not guilty.
Casey Anthony got off because the prosecutor wouldn't take the death penalty off the table.

Not that I'm aware of. And I've asked for examples on this forum in the past.

We effectively have "castle doctrine" in my state, but even prior to that I think the only time anyone was prosecuted for failure to retreat was when they were involved in criminal activity.
There were cases of people getting sued by burglars though (the infamous one is a guy getting sued by a burglar who used a ladder he'd left outside with a faulty locking mechanism, but I've never been able to confirm it wasn't just urban legend)..

Yesterday Mr. ? Learned why it was so important to moisturize the skin. He is now a better entity then he was days prior....

My roommate had a friend shoot a guy that was trying to break into his house (that was ALREADY on release after making bail on a rape allegation) that his friend shot and killed and the family of the dead shitbag tried to sue him over it claiming he chased him down outside or something when all the fucking blood from the dead dude is in the garage and all over the backdoor.

That Florida handicapped parking spot stand your ground trial began in Florida today.

God I hope he gets found guilty for the sake of stand your ground laws remaining intact everywhere. If this guy does get off of yelling at someone, being pushed to the ground, then shooting a guy 10 feet away who's backing up then I'll be forced to agree that the wording of syg laws needs to change.

Pretty sure he'll be found guilty. I guess 3 months prior he threatened to shoot someone else over a handicapped parking spot as well.

Not guilty or a mistrial. Defence will absolutely find one juror to stand their ground, pun intended.

He was also obviously drunk on Fox on Sunday morning, slurring his words

He always sounds a little drunk to me.

Which is weird to say since I would also list him as one of Trump's very best spokespersons....a guy who sounds perpetually tipsy.

Last case I can remember making the news for prosecution was a guy growing weed in his back yard (decriminalised here, but not legal).
Couple of would be thieves jumped his fence to get them and he went out and shot them. One managed to run off leaving his mate there to die, and after giving up the chase the guy went back and "put him out of his misery".
Can't imagine that'd fly anywhere.

Ben getting worked today

"They never made a move to impeach Obama despite the myriad scandals that popped up during his administration."

LOL, how do you even respond to that? Under any remotely reality-based appraisal, the Obama administration was the least scandalous since, what, Jimmy Carter? Dwight Eisenhower? The absolute worst Obama scandals wouldn't make Trump's top 100.

Dijongate was pretty bad. Might not have been an impeachable offense but maybe it should be.
