I have to correct the record now.

The trolling was punished too.

No bitch about getting carded for flaming then.

I asked for equal enforcement and got it.

Fair game.

Still going to try and take a break from posting for 30 days.

Come back and try to be the poster i was in 2105, and 2016, where I think I showed real discipline in posting about just the issues.

It's hard because you can't be a serious poster all the time here. You have to crack some jokes, and have some fun, but then you are allowing yourself to get away from the issues I think most of us come here to discuss.

Anyways. I don't want beef with any mods, or posters. It is stupid.

For my part I am a blank slate for every new interaction. And that along with issues based posting is what I will strive to when I return.
If you absolutely have to flame, I think it's pretty easy to weave it into a post that's on-point and on-issue. Turning name-calling into something more descriptive helps too. Like there's a real difference between saying "Fuck you" and "That nonsense can fuck off (and here's why)." Or the difference between saying "You're an asshole" and saying "Deflecting from taxes to Hillary is something assholes do when they can't defend their position." Not to say you can't potentially get rung up for any of that, but it does make a difference and it points toward the thread and issue rather than just directly at the person. Just imo/ime.

Spaniels are getting no respect imo. The first dog I remember was a rowdy American spaniel named Pokey. Jive little turkey but very licky and lovey. Still not among my favorites though.

I like the working spaniels. We looked after a welsh springer spaniel by the name of Jazz once. He was a lot of fun to take to the forest. He was really in his element.

I don't think the tweet conflated the two, I figured the tweets are using liberalism in the economic sense hence why its mentioned alongside capitalism. So if anything its conflating liberalism with capitalism.

But I think its pretty clearly true that between people who are socially liberal and those that are socially conservative which are more likely to value the extended family.

Empirical thought and the scientific method are far harder to implement in our day to day lives than inherited traditions I think.
If that's pretty clearly true, got any pretty clear empirical data, just for the sake of argument?

I know I am late to the party but I recently finished Ozark season 2, bretty gud for the most part
Less liberal virtue signaling which is good but Wendy is starting to get on my nerves. More so her writing than the actress, she's great for the most part though getting a little predictable. Don't care for Dell's replacement and how they handled Maison. Maybe I am reading too much into it but the whole Maison saga seemed like a low key dump on religious people. Even the dude's wife didn't believe that he was saved by God during the robbery, as if only Maison is dumb enough to believe something like that.

Conflict between the Snells was neat though. Started to like Agent Petty more but I don't mind that they offed him, I was actually sad about it and if you told me during season 1 I'd be sad at his death I wouldn't believe you.

Oh and Charlotte's story line, while believable, is mostly annoying to me while I sort of like what they're doing with Jonah. Cade was a huge disappointment for the most part. His whole character seems like it exists to lampoon dumb redneck men.

All in all I think the strength of the series is in its casting. Even when I feel the characters are poorly written at times something about the performance of the actors and actresses sells me on them enough for me to stay invested in the show. I also really like the OST and I think the cinematography is above average though sometimes it feels they're trying to hard with it.

I'm partial to arctic dogs so if I were to get a floppy eared dog it'd have to be like an English lab or beagle.
If you end up going for another mountain-ish dog but floppy eared, you might consider looking into a Bernese or Bernese mix. They're pretty big fluffy bastards and great all around (temperament, intelligence, loyalty, strength).

The difference isn't very big but its there. Only a 9% difference between people who are consistently conservative and consistently liberal.

Oh believe me I have.

Say I have a nice house and money isn't a huge issue I'd love to have like 2-3 big dogs around. I think they'd be fun to have and be a constant companion so to speak.

I hate how I watch a show and instantly forget the names of characters as soon as the credits roll. I had to assume who you were talking about in each paragraph pretty much. S2 was good. I felt like they rushed it quite a bit and it wasn't better than S1. I originally said the show was a mix of Breaking Bad and Justified. S1 closer to BB and S2 closer to Justified which is a lesser but still fun show.

Seems like they were thoughtful enough to intertwine what S3 will be about (the Union boss conflict). My memory is still blurry since it's been awhile but I believe my biggest criticism about the season was there were way to many plots/episodes where someone gives the main character 24 hour ultimatums for them to complete. Maybe that's okay once or twice but it just felt like lazy writing at a certain point. It also annoyed me they didn't really fail at all during the season and the early political plotline became anticlimatic because of that.

Why? Cause they can just quote it? Sometimes you could be making a paragraph with examples hyperlinked throughout without having to stop and show it. It's like forum citations.

No, my point is, it is a dumb feature to have links that link to pages and can be broken
instead of the direct post links.

They're such angels. But unfortunately they have serious health issues and only live for about 8 or 9 years. Which is doubly sad given how lovely they are.

OOF.

This discrepancy is quite a bit larger than I would have thought. I mean if you don't like being stereotyped as closed-minded hayseeds...well...

So apparently I got replied banned from the garlic shooter thread for pointing out that maybe letting people race bait during a developing story, or at all really, wasn't a good thing.

Weird.

Ah, yes. I think there isn't a way around it though because you need a URL that correctly puts the site together in your preferences. People just naturally think of using the browser bar for their link. I didn't even realize for awhile that the quotes with arrows go directly to that post until maybe two years ago.

I'm bummed I didn't watch the entire series but I enjoyed it while I did. I think I didn't see the final two.
It really REALLY falls off a cliff along the way in terms of quality. I always try to watch it and then fail to finish out the last like 2-3 seasons. Basically once Raylan's dad dies it kinda goes off the rails the same way Sons of Anarchy did after Jax's first son is kidnapped.

Happens so often. For every Breaking Bad, there are five Dexters.

I had to impose a little timeout on myself when something similar happened to me. I was gotten to I cant lie.

Man, I don't even want to get into SOA. They phoned that in for quite awhile and the only thing holding it up was filling half the episode with a decent song at the beginning and end with each character pondering. It bothers me because that's an example of a show that knew it's point A to point B for the whole series yet it still fell flat on it's face.
