SORRY!!!!!

I also didn't want to quote the guy and given him a notification and drag that shit in here.

Yeah that guy you quoted is one of the worst racists and extremists on the whole forums.

You do know you can get the direct link from the post #? You actually made me switch to horizontal view!! <{katwhu}>

I'd currently believe over half of posters aren't aware of how to link a direct post. Makes it worse I use a different amount of posts per page then the default. I end up not being close to what they link me to.

It's a dumb feature to have that kind of link at all imo though. There is no necessity for it, could almost be considered a bug.

Why? Cause they can just quote it? Sometimes you could be making a paragraph with examples hyperlinked throughout without having to stop and show it. It's like forum citations.

Just once, I would like to see a conversation around here play out like this:

Because I think (based only on lived experience, in all fairness) that it’s ridiculous to blame “liberalism” for the recession in the late 70’s and early 80’s, for example. Finger neo-liberalism sure, but that term has fuck all to do with being a liberal, while the tweets deliberately conflated the two. I.e. grade A bullshit.
I don't think the tweet conflated the two, I figured the tweets are using liberalism in the economic sense hence why its mentioned alongside capitalism. So if anything its conflating liberalism with capitalism.

But I think its pretty clearly true that between people who are socially liberal and those that are socially conservative which are more likely to value the extended family.
That is a pretty cool article.

It makes sense that random traditions would

I can’t help thinking that while a liberal (in the more generals sense u r using it) might reject some helpful traditions, he/she would rapidly replace those costs with the benefits of empirical thought and the scientific method.
Empirical thought and the scientific method are far harder to implement in our day to day lives than inherited traditions I think.

I have to correct the record now.

The trolling was punished too.

No bitch about getting carded for flaming then.

I asked for equal enforcement and got it.

Fair game.

Still going to try and take a break from posting for 30 days.

Come back and try to be the poster i was in 2105, and 2016, where I think I showed real discipline in posting about just the issues.

It's hard because you can't be a serious poster all the time here. You have to crack some jokes, and have some fun, but then you are allowing yourself to get away from the issues I think most of us come here to discuss.

Anyways. I don't want beef with any mods, or posters. It is stupid.

For my part I am a blank slate for every new interaction. And that along with issues based posting is what I will strive to when I return.

Palis got banned? For what?
It was in Mayberry. A girl was showing off her lip injections and Palis had to chime in with how much better looking he was than her while, to put it mildly, insulting her. Was a pretty insane thread tbh.

Also my phone alway corrects Palis to Pakistan (why not Paris?) which I find amusing as well.

Spaniels are getting no respect imo. The first dog I remember was a rowdy American spaniel named Pokey. Jive little turkey but very licky and lovey. Still not among my favorites though.

I'm talking about the original Palis account.

We used to post in the Sports Bar all the time back in the day. One day he started complaining about HN and how he was going to the War Room to put him in his place and was banned within a week I think.

Made new accounts and did a couple of more times. A bunch of us told him he should probably avoid the subforum but he's a gluten for punishment
Liked for “gluten for punishment.”

I'm a liberal myself so I agree about the overall benefits in general, but I think in most times and places, the replacement wouldn't be rapid enough to save anyone. In the book referenced in that piece, Henrich brings up examples of European explorers who get lost. We're talking about well-organized units of well-trained, fit men who have been exposed to liberalism. In all cases, they either hook up with natives and are saved or starve to death (and usually resort to cannibalism on the way out the door). In one case in Australia, even after finding tools and getting instructions on food preparation, they missed a key step and died. Even the most primitive-seeming cultures have developed processes that no one could figure out on their own under the gun in one lifetime.

I'm partial to arctic dogs so if I were to get a floppy eared dog it'd have to be like an English lab or beagle.
