He'll always have a place in my heart for this gif doe.

I never had an issue with Houston. His ground game was awful but there's tons of one dimensional fighters you can appreciate, especially when they are matched up in a way where you will get to see their specific skillset on display.

I went on there and looked at the deals. Crazy how materialistic people are. I've purchased one tv, one laptop, and one phone in the past ten years. And not a single one was bought new.

I'm not that far but I do find it odd how fast people seek to upgrade different devices they have. I keep the iphone I have until it vastly slows down or breaks. I bet I'll still have what I have for another two years (6s). For a laptop, I think quality is key. If you get a laptop $800 or over, it's going to last as long as you want it to unless your into gaming. Those $300 ones are made to break in 1-2 years from my experience. I could be using a 2009 laptop right now if I hadn't forgotten the log in to it. Lastly, smart tvs are dumb. If you have a hmdi output, you can either hook a computer/laptop to the tv or a chromcast/fire stick and it works just the same without dealing with the tv's interface. This goes into something else but I think many middle class people don't realize how easy life is because they don't manage their money well and yes, are way too materialistic.

Okay, I have Prime but I don't know what Amazon day is. Just a big sale? And people just go on and buy things they don't need because they're cheaper?

...with money they don't have to impress people they don't like!

Used 46 inch TV for $150 4 years ago, and won't replace that till it completely stops working. Had two half broken laptops and when one died (screen went from 1/8 backed out to over half) did get a Costco black Friday deal on a cheap laptop two years ago to have one reliable machine. Phone wise i had an S4 for years now have an s9 I'll keep until it completely dies. I have none of the other techy gadgets (Alexas, tablets, smart anything) aside from a chrome cast because admittedly streaming things from phone rather than hdmi hooking up laptop is worth the $25 convinience (and I have a gen 1 version I got 4+ years ago)

The "ooh, this is a great deal" always leaves me like- you really need that thing? At most I'll get some some 40 or under thing I'd been thinking about getting anyways.

Gonna get ragged on by some of my sherbro buds here, but I see a lot of the gun culture very materialistic as well. The guys that have a large number of firearms, and there's a lot of overlap of the effectiveness of each and they just have to have another ar-15 platformed rifle with a slightly new or different feature.

I think it comes down to impulse buying. I don't buy something unless I've been thinking about it for months and even then, I take forever to get around to it. People will buy something that they become aware of within the first five minutes and don't see that as troubling. I rather have a clutter free place with only the things I truly value and use frequently then a bunch of junk sitting around that I don't really use that could've been extra money in my pocket.

I will say though that if you like chromecast, consider slowly getting into the home assistant lane. Someone got me a google assistant and I thought I'd hate it but it sync's itself with the chromecast and all your tv subscriptions so you can just tell it to throw something on the tv. You can turn on/off and change the volume with it as well. I'm slowly going to get those outlet extensions for my lights. I've felt enough convenience from it to justify adding more. I know some people freak out over it recording but I have to say, it's a great product.

I've decided after a brief convo with @Lethalthat I am leaving the prem thread and the PWD. As it has been conveyed to me the mods dont have enough help with reporting and monitoring threats and racist comments so I'm putting down the like button and picking up the report button. I shall not report posts that dont violate the TOS, that is not my goal. I know I'm not going make a lot of friends with this decision. The administration can either sit back and watch a second version of yellow monday or they can admit that they've become lazy and weak and bring back Gaz and @RR.

I'm the same. Something has to have been on my mind for months before I finally break down and get it. If it doesn't stick around that long as a want, then it just fades away and I don't miss not having it.

I know my phone most likely does it to me anyway, but I'd like to just avoid having a corporate/government microphone placed in my living room. I can add 15 seconds to type in what I want on my phone.

LOL.

Lulz worthy post aside, what was yellow Monday?

I will say that the first laptop I got, which was a Dell Inspiron 1525, was a complete hunk of shit.

I had to replace the hinge literally 6 times over 6 years because of this happening over and over:

Just like the purge, different events involving multiple posters receiving infractions and/or bans received names over time. I'm certain there's been more than one yellow Monday however.

Yep, my first laptop was a $900 ASUS and it still works a decade later. At one point, I decided to get another laptop and got a $300 Dell and it started crashing within a year. Laptops definitely have clear tiers to them and the additional price upfront is worth it imo.

10 posters in here and not a single one is green. The fuck is wrong with you all.

I got a Lenova Flex 5 Yoga off Craigslist in 2016 (crazy good deal: worth $800 new but got it for $300 because the owner fell in love with an Apple).

I loooooove it. It's by far the best piece of technology I've ever had. It's one of those ones that you can bend into a tablet, too, but I never use it that way.

My first notebook had 7 MHz, two floppy disk drives, no hard drive.

Yea, I haven't had enough experience to develop any brand loyalty but from the people I know, I think ASUS or Lenovo is what I'd stick with when I buy again.

Didn't even know laptops ever took floppy disks. Figured they came along way after those were obsolete

I'm seen pundits say Brown's will win their division this year. I don't really get the hype. There's been far too many years people thought this going into the season to give them any optimism until they actually do it.

I usually try to stay away from the SJW, everything is racist , mah feelings b.s. that permeates alot of pop culture/political discussion

...holy fuck trump , just shut up man....in less than 3days the story has flipped...Pelosi/aoc went from "fighting" to standing together on a house resolution condeming your racist inaccurate drivel
