Also, that guy is lying his ass off about being 5'8. He's 5'0 at best. He's one of those weird hybrid grown adult midgets.

Edit - my mistake. He said he was 5'0. I heard "feet" as "eight". Sorry little man, my bad.
He's 5', I said 5'8" to mess with you manlets.

I'm not following the discussion but that's why I liked pride when I was 10 and I think it's crap in retrospect. Good LHW and HW talent, yes, but they wasted it on can crushing fights.
God, not only can crushing fights but evil, disgusting beatings of undersized guys. Roided 220lbs wand vs Sakuraba being the worst. They basically ruined that guy's life with CTE.

Yeah I’m retrospect that’s so true.

But you need to look at context as well. What was the UFC doing at the time? Prior to Zuffa, SEG was giving us one fight with known fighters and an undercard of no names being paid $500 to fight / $500 to win. That’s a joke of a business model. The thing was on life support until zuffa got the cable and Navada state athletic association sanctioning thing sorted out.

Contrast that to pride which was emulating UFC 1 - 10 but with massive big names.

Nothing to do with being 10, at the time, Pride was better.

Wait are you actually arguing that Fury Road isn't amazing? If its not your kind if movie I can get that but its hands down one the best films to come out in the last five years.

Yes it’s not a great movie. I grant the entertainment value and won’t knock anyone that enjoys it. The premise of any road warrior film is just re re lol.

You're plain wrong, its objectively an amazing film and the industry needs more films like it and less capeshit. Its non-stop action with amazing practical effects that still manages to pull off character development and world building and social commentary. If you don't like those kinds of films then I get that but the film hardly does anything wrong and does so much right.

"You want to step outside?!? I ain't afraid. Go ahead and attack me brAHGHHHHGHHH..."

<Lmaoo>

I hope he learned his lesson. Short male privilege is not a thing, and even manlets must adhere to the "Talk Shit Get Hit" rules of society.
Manlet pass REVOKED

I had to turn it off pretty quickly, since I get embarrassed for people making asses of themselves.

But the open season on short men is really fucked up. And people who legitimately talk shit about persons being short and think themselves better or more manly than them are generally just like women who expressly discount shorter men: shallow dumb shits looking for a way to delude themselves into feelings of superiority.

True story: I'm 6'0 but list myself as 5'4 on Tinder just to weed out the real cunts. And if a girl does publicly say something about not being interested in guys under 5'8, etc., I will talk mad shit to her and make her feel bad.

And, yes, I do get too offended on other people's behalf.

I would never admit to doing that. Also I think I've lost an inch of height over my adult life. Not cool.

It's not a pastime I partake in often, but I have gotten drunk and been a real dick about it. I am privileged to have some leeway in my selectivity.

I don't think I've shrunk, but I am one of the shorter men in my family. My dad, grandfather, and all my uncles are 6'1-6'3. I blame my using tobacco from a young age.

You're exactly 6'0? I dunno man, I'm not so sure. Think you might be 5 sumthin.

Just a show of hands here, who takes off their shoes when they go into their houses? I remember watching that Curb Your Enthusiasm episode where Larry David refused to take off his shoes, as if that was something normal to do.

...this is the wrong thing to do, IMHO. Take off your fucking shoes.

On pure entertainment value I get why some people will really like it.

But there is nothing objective about liking something like this vs. all the cape stuff. They both have massively good ratings so it’s really subjective criteria after that.

If you like your fiction films to have some sort of attempt at credibility within the context of the genre then this film is cartoon level silly. Were you not the one arguing that fiction should take the time to explain out of scene ethnics (sorry if I am confused)? Well explain the guy playing guitar, or how every road warrior movie in the land of no oil ends in a long drawn out chase scene? Not that any of that really matters, as long as we accept the campy nature of a film like this.

For me that’s the problem with the film, social commentary not withstanding, it’s a very basic plot full of holes all put together as an excuse to get to the typical silly road warrior ending. It’s not that I mind these kinds of film and again on pure entertainment value I get why some people really like it. For me it does not rate as top fiction at all.

I don’t wear shoes but it’s not an absolute rule.

How to tell I have been in the heavies too long: "Tim Sylvia would beat Stipe Miocic".

It took one thread to find that gem. One

Oh, it’s an absolute rule. No outdoor shoes/slippers worn inside the house
