Hated that movie as well lol

Never understood the Jeff Bridges love

Did you see it after Chinatown? Love the tweaking of:

"Forget it, Jake. It's Chinatown."
"Sir, this is not a lending library. It's the hall of records."
The "Chinaman" joke.
The threat to cut off Jake's nose (and then the later line about what he uses his nose for).

I watched Chinatown after you said this last time and lived Chinatown... still can't make it through Lebowski.

I'm also not a fan of any Wes Anderson movies

I mean there's not a lot of slapstick or "laugh here" stuff, though the marmot/rug pissing scene is hilarious, as are Donny's ashes and Larry's homework, when you see what happens, Larry, when you fuck a stranger in the ass! There's so much funny in there imo. Like everything John Goodman's character says, especially the way he berates Donny and is having perpetual PTSD, controlled by his rage while also seeing himself as some kind of paragon. The sex offender stuff with John Turturro was excellent too. And who doesn't love the nihilists?

And though I say that, it took me a couple of viewings before I really started loving it. Pulp Fiction was the same for me.

Not really a can of Tarantino either. I do love True Romance which he wrote but didn't direct. I also like From Dusk Till Dawn.

Always found his other movies anti climatic.

Comedy lists are tough. Today I'll go with:

A Fish Called Wanda
Little Miss Sunshine
Friday
Caddyshack
The Money Pit
Trading Places
Best In Show
Cedar Rapids
Talladega Nights
Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Nostalgia forces me to mention the Airplanes, The Jerks, and the Blazing Saddles of the world....

Fish called Wanda is an absolutely brilliant comedy...

"YOURE THE VULGARIAN YOU FUCK!!!"

The thing is, a big part of the joke is that it's a totally different type of guy thrown into one of those stories (with another different type as his friend). Funnier if you get that.

Also, I love the idea of Liam and Jesus being friends and partners. Probably not a more unlikely pairing that Walter and the Dude, but we get no insight into that relationship.

I can't believe I forgot about, A Fish Called Wanda. Although I'm not sure what I'd bump.

Comedy lists are tough.

Comedies:

1. Borat
2. Napoleon Dynamite
3. Kingpin
4. Austin Powers trilogy
5. The Big Lebowski
6. Mrs. Doubtfire
7. Get Him to the Greek
8. Bridesmaids

Other ones that come to mind but that wouldn't make the top 15: The Man, Joe Dirt, Blades of Glory, Mean Girls, Saving Silverman, I Love You Man

They really are...and it depends on your state of mind as well, and if youre drunk or high.

And other films you have to realize what they are parodying.

"Don't be a menace to south central while drinking juice in da hood" is only hilarious if you're familiar with all of the "hood " films

I have never seen Borat.

Totally.

Also, History of the World Part I is probably in my top ten. I'd bump Caddyshack probably.

Hangover (only the first one) was pretty damn funny as well.

I think Tropic Thunder deserves some love as well. Rober Downey's black face was comic genius

The scene where they are dropped off sets up the movie so well. I laughed for five minutes straight when that happened.
