I searched M.K. and a number of other sources for it (and went many pages deep in teh google), and came up with nothing. It appears to have spread online from an un-sourced user submission to either AZ Quotes or Brainy Quote. I'd estimate 90% of those quote-in-a-picture images posted here are fabrications, and not just misattributions.

I'm not being a tough guy. I'm pointing out what you just did. You actually provided an answer to why memes could be considered scary. People post anything that has no credibility to it and if another person wants to believe it's true, they just take it as truth.
