I thought you guys played Civ 6? Or maybe this is a joke that's going over my head right now...
Last year I played w/hockey, quip and shoemaker for some Civ 6 sessions, but I lost interest in the game and I don't like multiplayer (those guys are good to play with though).

I was just bragging about a nice game I had in Civ 5 last week. If anybody cares about the details, I had mountain adjacency, 3 plains salt tiles, a solid Petra, and some good river tiles. Almost ideal for playing with just one city (tough to get a fast science victory that way).

So you prefer 5 to 6? I have played maybe one or two games on 6, wasn't a fan of some of the changes but it could be that I just need to get used to them. I was really annoyed about not being able to stack units in Civ 5 but eventually I not only got used to it but came to see that it does improve the game.

Yeah I prefer 5 to 6 by a lot. But 6 is a much deeper, more varied game with more distinct play styles and factions, and it should be more interesting and it requires more skill. I just don't enjoy it, I find myself mindlessly clicking every time but I can't explain why.

My brain in VI goes onto auto-pilot without realizing it and before I know it like 5 turns have gone by and the computer is American History X prison raping my army.

Sometimes too much depth can be a bad thing. If there are too many mechanics to juggle it can be kind of daunting and you might find yourself not really caring about most of them and just trying to skip through them.

Civ VI, if you're the min/max type of player that finds different Civs with outrageous weaknesses but get some INSANE strengths you'll like.

Like when the Tourism shit came out in Civ V the French had those Chateaus to the point that they were overpowered and people placed like 40 of them per city next to luxury resources.

Just stumbled on the #fakenews/AOC thread. Woof, it is getting ugly in there.
What's the over/under that Mick is de-modded before the election?

Why would he be de-modded?

Not high. When I first joined in 2009 he was far more... brazen/brash? and was never de-modded.

I don't remember him back then, but I do remember him being a bit more in check than over the last couple of years or so.

Good lord, it always amazes me how fucking ugly most people are.

He's starting to crack. He might go too far
Frankly that's tame... even by "BJ Penn just lost and PositiveBalance is drunk" standards.

I've seen worse and nothing happen.

Nah, he's a putz, but he's actually considerably less wacky, less erratic, and less abusive of his mod status than he once was.

What did RR do to get demodded?
No idea but it probably had to do with the dust up he and @Fawlty had prior to RR being banned and coming back and having another dust up.

I have my suspicions but I'm keeping it to myself.

What did RR do to get demodded?

Way more than just shit post in bad faith. Arbitrarily banned two different posters, constantly stirred up drama, and leaked to the OT some naked pictures that @Fawlty sent of himself to him a few years ago.
