Moderating isn't just doing what you want. It was agree upon with WR mods that CT topics (9-11, UFOs, Flat Earth, etc) can go in The Great Beyond subforum. I could be wrong but I think there is a similar stance with Mayberry. If I didn't take down those posts, another mod likely would have gone in an done it as well or just dumped it considering it was a lot to clean up at that point already.

Honestly the great beyond subforum I would think is a fantastic solution. Those conspiracy type posts and threads aren't simply deleted and vanished. They go to a place where people can talk about that stuff with others who subscribe to at least some of the ideas presented. Also, the people clicking through their threads will at least be open minded and curious to their thoughts on the matter, where as most of us in the warroom think it's all bogus and they're all either crazy or stupid for believing in that crap.

I don't know why they view the GB so disdainfuly. It's their sandbox to go play in and make their own.

Yeah, I think he's wrong about the extent of automation and the impact on jobs. Like MC said, technological advance changes the workforce somewhat, but it's never previously caused the kind of problem Yang fears and it's slowing down (again, in terms of impact). You never know, of course, but it's not high on our list of legitimate concerns (while slow growth should be).

Also, I think the true ultimate tech is desire modification, as that amounts to practical omnipotence.

It's an interesting topic; I fall somewhere in between your two positions. I believe that in the near to mid-term, there could be job losses on an unprecedented scale for which we need to be prepared and for which pre-planning a social program to help is the best response, but it needn't be permanent as, in agreement with your view, I think it will cease to be an issue in the long term (if it ever was).

Lol so now you're agreeing with @Jack V Savage that their was no problem with her destroying the phone the problem was that she didn't do a good enough job destroying it.

Which is also in line with Comey's conclusion that her actions were careless but not criminal.
