There's a segment of dems who purport that Yang is an insincere, malicious actor - a libertarian corporatist Trojan horse attempting to incrementally disassemble the social safety net with his Freedom Dividend.
I am embarrassed to admit that I initially accepted this read because I trusted some sources. Having taken a deep dive on Yang I now see it is nonsense.
The nuts and bolts of his proposals aside, IMO Yang is the most tangibly sincere, intelligent, well-researched, empathetic, unassuming and unflappable candidate in this race. And I believe his take on the catastrophic job displacement coming as a result of automation and AI will be looked on in retrospect as prophetic.
But do I think he has a shot in hell of winning the nomination? No. Do I hope a Sanders or Warren finds a place for him in a potential administration? Yes.
