That's the only thing that really challenges my feelings about it, the state of our knowledge about their guilt. As an individual case, Bundy or BatTurd could each be put to death in a botched, painful execution and I wouldn't feel bad for them at all. I would oppose that on principle only.
I consider that to be a lack of compassion on my part, though. And my feeling about that can vary as my mood varies, which is a big red flag to me, and pulls me back toward the principle.
I watched The Innocent Man on Netflix and that shit is pretty crazy.
The one guy was a like a week from execution before getting a Stay and being acquitted due to the advances in DNA testing.
