It's legitimately sad that Reno's legacy is basically just "she was an extremely man-ish woman" because she was legit a super bright legal mind, a devoted civil servant, and a very talented politician as well. If she were born a decade or two later she'd be a very promising candidate for POTUS. Just a good person overall, and I'm sure she would have excelled in the private sector.
You should probably change your vote then, bud. It's impossible for the institution to be infallible, so...I have no problem with the government putting murders to death when there is no doubt the person is guilty.
But when I look at the results of the Innocence Project I realize they aren't good at making that determination
I can respect the thought behind that, but I don't think anybody is qualified to kill in my name, outside of a self-defense emergency.I have no problem with the government putting murders to death when there is no doubt the person is guilty.

I think she would do very well, but Beck is the snake oil man with a much higher net worth.
She's a hot-button for both the right and left these days, though. It doesn't help than she gets wrongfully blamed for Ruby Ridge (as does Bill Clinton).
Too late, just killed a mother fucker and stapled a "this was for OldFuck" sign to his head.I can respect the thought behind that, but I don't think anybody is qualified to kill in my name, outside of a self-defense emergency.
Sorta side note, I'm disappointed by how badly our media and discourse mishandled the beautifully simple and wise comment by RBG that "There will be enough women on the Supreme Court when there are nine."It's weird how much easier it is to understand the hate that Reno got now that I'm an adult. Just look at how every time a powerful woman comes to be, the right wing in America is able to mobilize itself so easily around bashing them - particularly when they are somewhat androgynous. When Obama appointed Elana Kagan, the Dean of Harvard Law School, to the Supreme Court, right wingers went on and on about how she was a man-hating far leftists feminist....just because she has short hair and a stocky build. And this still happens to this day about Kagan specifically, despite the fact that she's a more conservative jurist than Breyer, Soto, or RBG lol.
So, looking back, it's pretty clear that Reno's actual substance was never really relevant to the attacks on her character. What mattered is that she was a powerful woman in a Democratic administration that right wingers could look at and go "ugh, this is what liberals are doing to this country" because of her appearance. And, when equipped with knowledge of how competent and intelligent she was, it kind of makes her a tragic figure to me.
President Sanders court packing CONFIRMED.Sorta side note, I'm disappointed by how badly our media and discourse mishandled the beautifully simple and wise comment by RBG that: "There will be enough women on the Supreme Court when there are nine."
Sherdog front page said:If fighters got a guaranteed amount of money rather than a certain amount to show and a certain amount to win, it would offer additional piece of mind.
What's that supposed to mean?
That's the only thing that really challenges my feelings about it, the state of our knowledge about their guilt. As an individual case, Bundy or BatTurd could each be put to death in a botched, painful execution and I wouldn't feel bad for them at all. I would oppose that on principle only.I don't think it's impossible. They have to set the standard for the punishment higher than the standard of "beyond a reasonable doubt".
There have obviously been people that undoubtedly did it like Ted Bundy, the batman movie shooting kid etc.
Maybe they think the reduced incentive for winning will lead to fewer TBIs and less loss of brain function? What's that supposed to mean?
