I would watch that for sure. Could make for a very good, albeit very controversial, film. A conflicted disciple turning in his leader out of some regard for the safety of the leader, his people, or humanity.

A whole lot of potential in making a film or series about the character of Judas. I think the characterization of him as an evil figure is very misplaced.

I wonder what our different responses here say about our tastes. I was thinking something with the tone of Charade ("is there a Mrs. Christ?")--starts out light and fun, turns to a thriller with a little weight (also could see some James M. Cain in there with the angle of an ordinary, flawed guy doing something bad and getting in over his head). Yours seems more serious.

The "good" angle on Judas has normally been that his role was necessary for the whole thing to play out so maybe he was JC's most sophisticated and trusted lieutenant.

Nah. It moves at a snails pace , doesn't line up with Bruce becoming batman and was mostly boring. Like half hour in I get it society sucks everyone's mean and youre crazy put on your make up and get to.
It was The King of Comedy just with the joker being the lead. That's it

The real quest here will be asking people here how they feel about Barry Lyndon. Most will not have even seen his character. Nor will they understand the music involved with this scene or the various others.

Yeah, they probably do. Comedy, or at least good comedy, would seem to me to be the hardest artform, but tragedy is the most evocative and the strongest to me personally.

I left a lot of room for literary and historical license in my post, as I think there are a lot of compelling possible takes on Judas. Obviously, there are unavoidable theological reasons in defense of Judas, in that he brought about salvation. But, to me, it's the issue of free will that is important. He was destined to betray Christ. Further, he was told of his destiny and burdened with the yoke of his betrayal. He later folds under the weight of his actions and, according to one scripture, commits suicide. He's the only person in the New Testament to commit suicide, which would later become majorly regarded by the Christian faith as a mortal sin for which one cannot repent.

Anyways, it gets to a fundamental anxiety about free will within the omniscience of a higher being. And the morality of a deity that would rear children with knowledge that most of them will evade salvation and be damned for all eternity.

Let me ask this.

Superman can basically use his powers to listen to everyone’s conversations at the same time. He can listen to anything he wants. The police, lawyers, government officials behind the scenes. Mafia types, street thugs, gang bangers, drug dealers.

Does this make superman a villain as well?

In a way. It's a justification of curtailing civil liberties in pursuit of fighting criminals and terrorists.

This is all very interesting, but what are the best snacks to accompany a Batman movie?

Those berry flavored Gummi wurms in the purple bag .... sour patch watermelon slices. Reeses pieces....and if your actually at the theater popcorn. With an absurd amount of butter and salt cuz if you aren't going to eat healthy you might as well go all out

@HockeyBjj @PolishHeadlock2 @kpt018 @Gregolian

I think I'm going to need to start up a podcast just so I can get out all of my anger about the Green Bay Packers' treatment of Aaron Rodgers and the general mismanagement of the franchise over the past decade. If I don't say these things out loud, I'm afraid I'll start growing tumors.

Another thing I hate about him is that he represents this trend I see in a lot of popular characters whereby the smart character is always a condescending asshole. Iron Man is one, Rick Sanchez from Rick and Morty is another, Sherlock Holmes in Sherlock is another Lots of them. Meanwhile kindness and empathy are correlated with naivety and simple mindedness. Really hate that.
Bruce Banner, Peter Parker and Shuri are just as intelligent and are portrayed as sweet characters we always want to hug

Fuck are you even talkin' about?

I'm doing the opposite of telling people (let alone Southerners) what it means to display some version of that flag. But keep getting fucked up on all sorts of shit and going off on people. Fun stuff. :)

PS. I sure as fuck ain't rich. But I've shown up steady to a couple good jobs over the last 20 years, lived beneath my means, and didn't have kids, so it's provided me some cushion. Do the same from now until you're 50 and you too will be solidly middle-class. :)

Nah homie. This had to do with u you talking about country boys when you talked about that fucking rag. your ignorance is fucking insulting ad a Southerner. They lynched all the anti slavery whites and stripped the skin from the preachers. There were contests about how many black heads they could "pop" with their wagons, they kidnapped free black men who spent their entire life earning their freedom,( Lee did that)

Reconstruction and beyond beyond..who did the FBI kill, also besides terror lynchings, what was the KKK death toll? And can you please elaborate very distinctly about it u post 1985 KKK transition to subtle law enforcement, considering the terrorism against the Freedom Riders.

You running your fucking mouth about how that fucking rag is mine. Do you have any idea how insulting what you say is?

You ran your fucking mouth about that rag didn't you? Do you have any FUCKING idea what you're talking about? You were trying to be cute about that terrorist rag being our culture... I'm just saying, if you believe that. Wear that fucking rag in the Lower 9, or out East. You can be fucking cute as a haole about that fucking rag but bro.

I showed your messages to some friends or mine out East and when I told them you w me know a firearm enthusiast they joked it you would piss yourself or cry first.

That flag you think is cute to defend is a real fucking issue down here dude. Do you honestly not know about what that shit represents?

See, that’s fascist. You are the fascist with statements like that.

Irony overload.

I despise leftists, but still They get protections of American law.
I have to say. You're absolutely adorable. I really don't know also about fascism can you explain it's rise from black shirts to now?

Also describe leftism, ya real feeble up top so I'm curious, aren't we all godless commies? Which principle again?

Oh fuck it's Twitter right. Twitter is no u leftist and fascist.

Damn dude I'm real anti fascism but hearing that twitter is Left might...

Wait, BRO.. as a leftist and you an anti leftist this is shocking to us both...

I just found out... The workers don't own the means of production at twitter . :(

Also. I'll never forget how cute it was when you're tried to bring up Animal Farm when I was talking about Orwell. Legit adorable little fella.
