I would always find a way to fuck it up. I had much better results with the Scotch, specifically with Ivanchuk's idea of castling queen side and launching an all out assault on the king side.

Never cared for d4 personally, was obsessed with ru y Lopez cause it's what my dad taught me first. I'd have to look up the rest, I'm out of touch.

The scotch is pretty fun to learn as there's lots of awesome games to study. Morphy used it a lot, so you can see how black can get picked apart very quickly if he's not careful. But there are more modern ideas so you can continue to use it as you get better. Ivanchuk, Carlsen, Topalov and Kasparov have all won some awesome games with it.

Certainly not. I, for example, am an anxiety riddled PhD student unsure of his path in life. Currently I specialize in escape fantasies whereby I give it all up to join the french foreign legion or go to pilot school or establish the cutest bakery in Maine!

That's probably a little disproportionate.

I remember being dizzy, puking, and then nothing until waking up 2 days later. I was apparently awake and running around during this time and convinced my boss that I had a ride coming to pick me up. Checked my phone later and saw I had dialed a gibberish number, which i'm assuming I talked to as if there was someone on the line. After a second thought, she sent a co-worker to make sure I was alright and he apparently found me wandering through a parking lot talking to myself.
