Dude is my homie and one of my historian idols, but I hope everyone here supports Limbo in that Native American thread. We're very lucky to have someone like him here.
Bet $10 on the Warriors at halftime tonight at +1500 when they were down 18. Ended up winning $150 off it.
Thought about betting a full hundred, which would have given me $1,500. Really pissed at myself for pussing out.
Yes, I have. I try not to overanalyze it. I feel a lot of the evo-psycho explanations are very unfulfilling. I'm with you that smaller animals are not necessarily cuter, I like all animals but I'm afraid of mice and rats.@tonni Have you ever thought about or read about the idea of "cute," i.e. what drives humans to feel strong affection towards animals?
I've seen a few theories - the most prominent one being that small features, large eyes, and apparent helplessness bring out the mammalian rearing response that one would have for a baby - but none of them remotely persuade me.
My personal reactions seem to deviate from the norm in at least four ways. First, I don't find younger animals to be more cute. In fact, I think old dogs and old cats are more adorable than puppies or kittens. Second, I don't find smaller animals to necessarily be more cute. Physical size just doesn't seem to move the needle for me personally. Third, apparent vulnerability doesn't seem all that relevant. I bend a little bit on this one (an injured animal, for instance, alarms me more than a healthy one), but some of the big animals I find most cute such as lions, horses, bison, and cheetahs, are extremely powerful animals. Fourth, size and proportion of eyes don't move the needle for me either. Sugar gliders don't particularly appeal to me, but I'm a big fan of the beady-eyed opossums.
Also, I don't care about babies. Like, at all. Toddlers can be cute. But a newborn? Couldn't care less.
Yeah, obviously a lot of liberals suspected for a long time that the "family values" nonsense was just a cover for hatefulness and bigotry, but I don't think even the most emphatic ones could have thought the cover could be ripped off so quickly and decisively. Honestly, to still believe that family values or any sort of defensible morality plays any part in GOP political thinking, you'd have to be wildly uninformed or hopelessly stupid.
I'm pretty sure that poster is a dedicated troll or literally a shill.I just saw a post thanking Russia for standing up for free speech unlike the tyrants of the US.
How stupidity like that even exists is incredible.

It's really embarrassing. There was a mouse in a chest where I kept dry food etc. It was closed but I could hear it moving and chewing and doing mouse things. I had to be talked through the whole thing on the phone by my girlfriend back then.
I don't get it either. Close up, I think they're cute. That's wild. I've never understood the fear of mice. Just doesn't make sense to me like other animal phobias like spiders or snakes. I love rats, personally. So smart and social.
Took a shit. No toiletpaper. Rookie mistake. Gotta improvize.

It ended up pretty good surprisingly. I'd swing at people if they said some of those comments in person lolI wasn't even going to glance in that thread beyond the OP, thanks for the heads up. Limbo Pete is a Top 5 lock for posters on Sherdog, easy money.

Ended up being good and honestly TS just
came across as ignorant and not cruel.
I'm fucking stupid
@PolishHeadlock2 just watched Richard Jewell after seeing your post about it in another thread. Great movie, but a real bummer.
Lol I imagine it's how you feel when people bring up homosexuality in a thread or how I feel when I see Anti Fascists brought up. It's usually exhausting and not even worth addressing but every sooo often.I know, I read through quite a bit after your post mentioning it in here and then went back about an hour later and launched a (well-deserved) blitzkrieg on @Limbo Pete's notifications, every like I had locked and loaded.
No, Nicholas.

I've said more than once that I come on here to loaf around rather than work, so I don't typically roll out posts like that for very long. But it's worth it every now and then.
If I think someone is sincere in their questions, i'm usually more than happy to give at least some clarification on the subjects in my wheelhouse.
