War Room Lounge v190: Resolution Impossible

When I worked security for a few Asian club nights downtown it was wild. They def got right to it.

The stereotype that other bouncers had was that they would always take their belts off and swing the buckles at people... but I never saw it.

They are the only people I know who have a light-switch. As in, it goes from 0-100 at 100 MPH. There is no talk, no tough guy shit, just violence.

I never really got that into alcohol. Did occasional heavy drinking in college and a little after but I’ll go months without a drink and not notice. Only time I’d want to drink a lot is mojitos at a resort or something. Rum and coke once in while isn’t bad either.
Run and coke is a classic. Mojitos are dangerous because they go down so easy.

My friend was a paramedic and told me some crazy stories about some of the calls he showed up to that involved the triad (not sure thats the correct term) gangs downtown. People tied to chairs with guts hanging out.

Also second hand accounts of people running out of a tiny vietnamese karaoke bars on Ossington and being pulled back inside to the back room screaming.... That's before ossington became club land part 2 of course.

Does anyone remember 1 liter Pepsi product bottles use to have a larger cap then the 20oz or 2 liter? I honestly think that had a change in how it tasted. Went from best size you could get other than maybe cans to the clear worst.

Didn't Shaq do commercials for it?

What, I don't, and please explain further.

I dont remember that, but I do remember crystal Pepsi.

this might be it but I can’t tell. Hard finding an image of it

It was true with aquafina bottles too. 20oz was a small cap and 1 liters had a larger one. One day, they all just became the same and for some reason it ruined what the 1 liter tasted like.

Triad is Chinese gangs. Often hooked up with Vietnamese gangs but the Lao, Cambodian and Vietnamese gangs are more likely foot soldiers for the ethnic Chinese and not directly in the Triad. Kinda like how Sur 13 are foot soldiers for the Mexican Mafia.

So fwiw I absolutely believe this can be true. Like if you go to a Chinese restaurant, they have these special spoons for soup? Definitely leads to different parts of the tongue picking up the taste than with a normal spoon. So this could be similar.

Considering how hard it is to find an image, I’m wondering if it even was a regional thing just due to how the factories were or something. Kinda how people say coke tastes different based on region because of the water.

And you think it changed the taste?

@Wet Blanket I never had Crystal Pepsi (was it like....Sprite?) but I had Pepsi Blue, and it was disgusting

I have no doubt. Vietnamese especially basically operate on a "You pay now" policy.

Do you think how it’s carbonated could have an impact if the bottle opening is smaller? I don’t know if you drink soda but I think most people would agree cans taste much different and better than a two liter.

Something had to make it taste different and that was the clear change at the time. I don’t know if that also was when it was made in a different place or some other variable actually caused it but it definitely was different.
