“Term limits would be bad.”
There needs to be something. Like say, non-consecutively there doesn't need to be a limit but a limit on consecutive terms or something.

They are public fucking "servants" and yet they act like they rule us the way some noble family would... eating food most of us will never get to see, going to places most of us will never get to see, driving vehicles we can only dream of drooling on at a dealership, getting an education we can only pray for....

We need a holiday, where the blue collar man gets to go into the home of the white collar man... eat his food, sleep in his bed, fuck his shit up.

Damn Greg. Sounds like you're getting ready for the revolution.
The older I get, coupled with what I have my degree in (poli sci so I know HOW it's SUPPOSED to work) the angrier I get about career politicians. Fucking cancers and they need to be cut out or the whole body begins to die. We are at that stage where portions of the body are beginning to die and are smelling like gangrene.

Versus what alternative?

I'll take a career politician than a businessman or hog farmer any day.
We have congressional and senate members who became members when others were serving that were born in the 1800s. We have folks running for president who the first time they took office the internet sounded like something from Star Wars.

We have folks IN office currently that were in office when computers took up an entire room.

How can ANY of these fucks, with their 9 vacation homes and millions in the damn bank acccount, know what normal people need?

They can't. Bunch of fucking dipshit pontificating assholes playing everyone against each other just to keep raking in the power and consolidating the wealth.

Fuck them and the horses they rode in on. I hope Anthony Barr breaks all their fucking collarbones and they get dysentery.

what about a member of the proletariat class? a peasant.., the everyday layman, .a blue collar worker who has worked his entire life to the bone...a man who truly has lived in the "working class"?

Bro but the rich are getting richer so everything's fine.

Working as intended.

There's that line from V for Vendetta that comes to mind too.
"Governments should be scared of the people and not the other way around"

I think the much of the Western world governments have forgotten that. Living in their cushy apartments that will cost more than my parent's new house.....

We've had what seems like (I don't have numbers directly in front of me) a significant increase in working class down-ballot progressives winning primaries and elections all over the country.

In fact, I'm willing to bet that most people on either side would prefer working-class folks in elections over legacy clowns.

A hog farmer almost certainly understands the plight of whom he is working for over some dude who got a law degree paid for by daddy just to run in elections.

That TV show Yellowstone represents this wonderfully.

Costner's character John Dutton only supports his son's bid for AG when he thinks he can control him and get laws passed in his benefit. And when he feels his son separating from the family, what does he do? Finds a different candidate to throw in the office.

Fuck these legacy ass douches. At least it feels SOME are waking up to it with that Kennedy losing.

I don't think you're understanding the point, though. No reasonable person would say that every Spanish noun now needs to be de-gendered, like "x telefonx" or "x lamparx". The argument would that group terms that are explicitly meant to encompass both genders shouldn't default to the masculine version when the masculine version specifically refers to the male subgroup. "Latina" isn't simply a word like "la lampara" that is feminine by happenstance: it's a feminized version of a masculine word that stands in for the entire group.
I don’t think it’s such a big deal that we need a nonsense word for it. If we made it the feminized version that stood in for the entire group I’d be fine with that, it’s preferable to making up words that don’t even have a logical pronunciation. Just Latins would be better than latinx if we really had to decouple gender from it, which I don’t think we do. And logically then we have to extend this rule to every nationality and type of person in Spanish like Americanos or Italianos or gringos or whatever. It’s ingrained in the language. Idk why la lampera is by happenstance and unimportant while latinos is somehow deliberate patriarchy that is just soooo problematic. Either it’s all happenstance or it’s all deliberate.

anyway I just think we aren’t going to agree on this one. Do you have a problem with humankind or mankind? Humanity? I don’t.

@BEER

To add to that last post, I watched all of Yellowstone this weekend. Top end show and highly recommended to all in general.

But that show made me realize that I would really love to live in an area with some land and space between me and my neighbors, similar to what I had in Washington growing up. So I started looking at property and found 6 acres near Park City for 250k set up for a well, septic, and electiricty right now and the land price is not bad especially for this area.

Then I slowly realized, there's no way that I could afford that land or to build a house up there... and by the time I have the money to get that land without being in debt till the day I die the price will likely have gone up cause of the super rich buying vacation homes up there and I legit was almost brought to tears cause of it.

FUCK career politicians. Tar and feather all of them.
