Sure criticism of those beliefs is important too but in my mind there's a difference between something that is not likely to be true but isn't falsifiable and something that is falsifiable. If you're spreading claims that are falsifiable that's taking the irresponsibility to a higher level.I don't think people push back enough false beliefs like Bigfoot and aliens (or creationism, the afterlife, etc.--I don't think religion should get an exception). It all contributes to a kind of mindset that is greatly harming the country. I suspect that the re-emergence of creationism helped prep Evangelicals to embrace climate-science denialism, which in turn helped clear the way for a general denialism (why trust the same sources that lie about the world having been around for more than 6,000 years and that routinely promote the Chinese hoax about the climate about anything else?).
Ouch. That bottom rib. Gonna have to be careful to not breath deep for a while

That's why I want to punch him.And somehow he ended up with Kristen Bell who's much richer than him and out of his league.

I definitely see your point when it comes to stuff inherently linked to big conspiracies (although that link isn't always stated out loud), but religion? That's rarely a battle worth fighting. If a person's religious beliefs directly get in the way of their survival (like someone refusing medical treatment because God will save them or they'll be welcomed in the afterlife) or dictates the way they treat others in a negative way (like homophobia), then sure... but if it's mostly a spiritual matter, staying far away from that is just the smart thing to do. No sense in antagonizing people with no short term goals in mind, specially given how religion is often an integral part of a person's identity.I don't think people push back enough false beliefs like Bigfoot and aliens (or creationism, the afterlife, etc.--I don't think religion should get an exception). So this is a safe space now?
I've saw Ari perform during his last tour and he was incredible. I don't listen to Ari on podcasts or Skeptic Tank for a bunch of laughs. I just enjoy listening to the dude talk. He breaks down stand up beautifully and his podcast with Bert on "fun" was great. My god you actually liked listening to the Ari Shaffir appearances?
We could not possibly have more different tastes
You would have no idea two comedians were talking when they’re together. It’s just 3 hours of talking. Nothing funny going on and neither has anything interesting to say.
My brother and stepdad decided they wanted to make pot brownies today, and the whole house smells like week. I'm gonna barf.

If you mean push back collectively then I agree... if it was up to me teaching creationism in school would be outlawed, even in private institutions and religious beliefs should never ever exempt you from civic duties.
Not for you motherfucka.
I'm kind of annoyed today. This girl is trying to guilt trip me into having sex with her because she has brain damage.
un.
Fair point that you're probably not going to get anywhere pushing back against religion. But I think it is a problem to the extent that religions push supernaturalism, even if there's no obvious solution. And religious beliefs that either directly or indirectly promote CTism should be fought (I'd put creationism in that category, as the implication is that the scientific community and popular culture is all trying to fool people or fooled themselves, and prominent creationists often directly say as much).
What was the claim?Do you mean Rogan? How is apologizing for a false claim that is incendiary(pun intended) being a sell out? Even if Spotify pressured him on some level to do so it was still the right thing to do.
Well you go ahead and do the use of force test, see how long it takes for you to release the hounds. What in the absolute fuck????
Forest fires in Oregon are caused by Antifa. What was the claim?
