I never thought much of him either way. I only tune in if there is a guest of interest (e.g. related to science, history, politics and the rare freak show for shits and giggles).

His strengths are his willingness to host interesting guests on a wide range of issues. Other than that I don't care too much for his opinion. His best podcasts are where he doesn't really conversate and instead allows the guest to speak freely.

I really like when they talk about the world of BJJ. I find that the most interesting.

That's the thing, those are the best but also some of the absolute worst. Rogan will sometimes bring in complete lunatics and let them spew poisonous garbage about topics he doesn't understand. At best he'll just listen, at worst he'll actually act like he's convinced. He also has the habit of, out of fear of open confrontation, mimic the politics of his most recent guests only to change a lot of his positions shortly after. Listen to the Bernie episode and then listen to any episode where he brings in any of the IDW turd goblins. Your brain will suffer from whiplash.

He had on some former MMA fighter dipshit who co-created an entirely reality show out of the premise that Hitler faked his suicide and fled to Argentina. It was the epitome of a bro history class and Rogan just sat there and ate it all up. It was infuriating.

I don't blame her. As someone who loves monster movies and used to watch tons of them most are trash. But Tremors is legit, stands head and shoulders above most films in the genre.

First off the back story is just great. Most monster movies rely on lab experiment gone wrong or accidental mutation due to pollution or some other generic backstory. In Tremors the Graboid(btw what a great name) is a Pre-Cambrian life form which elegantly explains why its so unique without going into detail.

More importantly the central feature of the Graboid, that it burrows underground and attacks from beneath, gives the characters in the film a simple yet persistent and difficult problem to deal with that they then have to constantly work around. Unlike characters in many other monster movies they're not retards running around and getting picked off one by one, they're actually pretty clever with the shit they come up with to get away because they have to be. Basically its one long game of "the floor is lava" which is actually pretty fun to watch.

And of course the film balanced the humor with the horror really well. Just really solid monster movie all around, wish we had more like it. And unlike other monster movies it also has a decent sequel. Maybe not as good as the first one but still solid. The shriekers present a different problem; instead of a few big Graboids that burrow underground and attack from underneath the characters have to deal with a bunch of little bipedal monsters that detect infrared so they have to come up with a different way of dealing with them. Never saw the third one but I wouldn't have high hopes that they could pull off three in a row.

This is actually a great analysis.

Well done

Man, the CCP whistleblower thread seemed like one of those uneventful nothing burgers because everyone pointed out that the "whistleblower" was a bit suspect. Then someone opened up a portal to the chud realm and all the crazies started pouring in.

I never understood this - why is it so difficult for people to comprehend that other people may have diverse political opinions?

I haven’t listened to Rogan regularly for like 5 years but I still watch some of the big ones (for me) like Edward Snowden and he was constantly railing about how terrible the left can be but was also rehashing the same old talking points about flooding black communities with money and being for UHC and how it is actually a human right

People can have different beliefs, I know it’s hard to comprehend.

I never saw the contradictions with Joe, he has opinions that are part of both aisles and can appear to be more of one than the other depending on his guest. It’s a podcast, not a fight club and it isn’t Joe’s responsibility to immediately become combative whenever a solidly right wing or left wing person is on.

But you’re not gonna vote for Biden either and then complain for 4 more years if Trump wins again.

I don't do a lot of complaining about Trump. I think he is a piece of shit, but I'm not exactly prolific about bitching about him.
