LOL, look at the very next post. I do like the Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables version best though.
Did they jump out of their lifesize hotwheel car and call you a queer ?
I think Eric Church, one of my favorite artists releasing that song calling out his entire genre basically did it. Basically stating we used to write songs that told stories, now all you care about is making millions of dollars and being on the radio.
That and then the Plastic Surgery Disasters/In God We Trust one that was basically two albums in one were my faves.I think fresh fruit is my fave dk album.
Haha pretty much same scenario as the song, but Northern Ontario.
Come on boys. Get harder.
Life has stabbed you in the back
Retaliate in violent ecstasy
what is this song you speak of
The roads to and from her heart are littered with creative souls
They gave all their all
And all they got in return was empty holes
Sure we've all heard about Shel and Kris and Willie and the Bobby Bares
She's smiled on the Johnny's, the Merle's and the many Music Row millionaires
Like a beacon, she goes seeking seed
For her loins so fertile
To a free man, she's a prison
To a caged one, she's a file
A tramp, a slut, a bitch, a mutt
A thousand pawn shop guitars
A nasty little needle
To a vein that feeds a singer's heart
She lurks in friendly shadows
But she's a junkie with a limp
The agents are her bookie
And the labels are her pimp
That and then the Plastic Surgery Disasters/In God We Trust one that was basically two albums in one were my faves.
I do like the slow lounge-y version of California Uber Alles just as much as the more famous version.
OG version
The other version that lots hate:
The jocks were all good kids in my school and they never really bothered anyone and most of them were just serious about sports 24/7
It was the preppy kids that were always starting shit and did all the shit jocks get associated with in the 80s movies
Basically "if it's sad and depressing you assfucks won't mention it cause that doesn't sell"
He has a song well known as "Devil Devil" but is actually called Prelude to Darkness where he outright calls the agents of Nashivlle a pimp.
The key section of Prelude:
