I get your point. But we live in a 2 party country and its either going to be a or b. So when i say team i mean in our country you are either on the right somewhere or the left.
To me it really feels like a rock and a hard place. I dont want to vote republican light ..... but im pretty sure i dont want trump to be president any more either.
Should our focus be to try to force the dnc to break into 2 parties or should our focus be removal of donald trump? Both does not seem doable to me.
"We live in a 2 party country" is only a thing because people think they, individually, don't make a difference. If everyone further left than the DNC said "you know what, we need to do better" and organized (which is happening more now than I've ever seen), we can start to upend the status quo. I will never vote for the lesser of two evils. I got voter-shamed in 2012 and 2016 for refusing to vote D, and I'll be shamed again this year.
I think, this year, we will see a combination of more third party voters, and even more people yielding their votes than we've seen in a presidential election in a long time. Hillary was a terrible candidate, and Biden is a terrible candidate. The entire Biden campaign is running on "we're not Trump, but we're not left enough to dissuade moderate voters". They seem to be courting a very small contingent of reluctant and undecided Republican voters, and rejects basically everything leftists ask for.
Universal Healthcare: Joe Biden said he'd veto if the bill came to his desk.
Marijuana legalization: Joe Biden thinks weed is a gateway drug.
Environmental issues: Joe Biden said he would not ban fracking, but has introduced a handful of failed, but toothless, climate bills over the years.
Military/Defense budget: Joe Biden has no plans to cut the bloated military spending.
Defund the Police/Police Reform: Joe Biden wants to give police MORE federal funding.
Second Amendment (which is generally seen as a right wing issue, but leftists strongly support it): Biden literally argued with Bernie about having a better record of supporting gun control measures.
I mean, I could go on and on. And surely there are a handful of ways that a Biden administration would be better than Trump's, but I'm also convinced at this point that a Biden vote is a low-key Kamala vote. The DNC is back-dooring Kamala into the presidency to win some sweet-sweet IdPol points.
