I think you nailed it with your criticism: Make a sign that says something like, "I could be helping the homeless, but I'd rather be a prick"

Stay safe

Perfect actually. They were trying to force the homeless to go to the shelters when I got to work, Rangers are leaving the FQ right now and the streets are dead as hell.

I smoked down though and brought my dug out so I can experience my first hurricane blazed af.

Eh, calling it a "rivalry" implies one side has more to offer than skimming mises.org articles, seriously misunderstanding established economic theory (seriously, he's laughably bad at this) and the occasional white nationalist wink wink. Not to mention a lot of his diatribes borderline on thread derailment (entering a thread about something the government does and saying "there should be no government" isn't meaningful contribution). So when they get going in any given thread what I think to myself isn't "let's watch the two of them going at it one more time" as much as it is "oh no not this moron again".

Whoa, easy on the unnecessary vitriol. Although my knowledge isn't quite as particularized as either of theirs, I have never known JVS to simply skim or misunderstand mises.org articles, nor have I ever known him to espouse the views of white nationalists or sovereign citizen/no government types. In fact, that's a pretty fucked up accusation toward him. Usually, JVS renders topical, on-point, and fairly elucidated economic analyses: hardly the stuff of thread derailment. And when the two of them get into it and somewhat derail the thread from its primary issue, all in attendance are better for it, due to the sheer complexity and nuance of their disagreements, with both of them coming at the subject from equally valid, well-read, and well-contemplated perspectives.

While @Jack V Savage's knowledge of economics might arguably pale in comparison to @Greoric's, merely comparing the two puts JVS in the upper echelon of authorities on the subject. JVS and I share much more common policy positions than Greoric and myself, so I'm pretty defensive of him anyways, I wasn't meaning to insult JVS by insinuating that he's the ying to Greoric's yang. And I think your criticism of him is a little over-the-top and uncalled for tbh.

Reminder of who John McCain was. Here he is, in 2018, blaming the Democrats for their failure in 2009/2010 to reach out and seek bipartisan consensus on writing and crafting the ACA, lamenting of the years past when Democrats had more reasonable men like Ted Kennedy that reached across the aisle.

Meanwhile....

Just sad how far people have sunk. Lot of Republicans instantaneously didn't like Obama's "arrogance" on health care.

So instead we got an even more arrogant person, and an exponentially stupider person.

I said many moons ago when Trump won that Obama will be remembered very fondly, and known as being sandwiched between two of the all-time worst Presidents. I was confident then, and am now completely confident in that as time passes and legacies are defined, that's exactly how it will pan out.

I mean, it's hard to say. Just look at how Ronald Reagan's legacy has been inexplicably redefined. At the end of his second term, he was considered an average to below-average president, and that was BEFORE his disastrous policies blossomed into their full expression. Yet, despite being easily the most destructive president in modern history, his party successfully launched a propaganda campaign on his behalf, and he's now the president that is most said to be the GOAT by American citizens.

We'll have to agree to disagree. What he inherited was horrible and he did well despite beyond rabid opposition. Definitely way above average intelligence, but also pragmatic and not just a theorist. Treated the office and people around him with extreme class and was squeaky clean. He was ahead of his time, and the rest of people will catch up. I firmly believe he will be referenced with reverence. Nobody will want to say "He's the next Bush Jr", or "He's the next Trump" with any bragging; but they will with Obama. I have virtually no doubt.

Cliffs: manlet post a thread about stealing some guy's girlfriend and inserts a random picture of some hot chick off the internet.

Happened yesterday at a bar at 11:35. Was hanging out drinking a beer and this guy, I'd say 6'2ish jock looking dude goes "hey manlet get out of the seat", I smiled and made eye contact with his girl (blonde, tan skin very attractive) and then looked back at the TV. The guy was so flustered by the fact that I didn't care and turned red like a tomato. Several minutes later I'm scrolling through my phone and I feel a tap on my shoulder, I expect it to be the same guy but instead it's girl who apologizes to me and says that her bf can be such a dick. I told her I found it funny and made her laugh, she said she noticed me smiling at her and gave me her number. Well, guess who's got a new date this friday :)? Just goes to show, sometimes it's your BRAIN that matters more than your PHYSIQUE. Let this be a lesson to the losers out there who judge people.

I am terrified of going into the Nike thread.

Is it as bad as I assume?
