Wait, mods can't be ignored? Can I get modded for an hour, again? There's someone in the boxing forum who needs to hear more of what I have to say about Billy Joe Saunders.

It's not good stuff. The stuff I have to say. It's not good.
Go on...

I loved Hasek. Dude was so fun to watch.

And he's responsible for this too:

I love how Gaborik is like "wait, what the fuck happened?"

I'm a Bruins fan but God do I love Hasek.

He also had the moment of trying to fight Patrick Roy and falling down and taking out Roy's legs.

@Prokofievian I get what you say about dominant goalies not being "the thing" as much anymore like they were in the time of Hasek, Brodeur, Roy, and others but goddamn... they're still among the best characters on the ice. Rask losing his shit when his blade fell off in the playoffs, Smith constantly breaking his stick and almost smashing a ref, Tim Thomas blasting Burrows with a chop to the leg then decking Sedin.

Imo Hasek was on a whole different level than Roy and Brodeur.

I also think Brodeur was a bit of a product of the trap at the time.

Would you guys care to describe for me the characteristics you have in mind when you refer to people as autistic in this context? I see it done a lot on here but I'm left wondering who people are really picturing in their minds eye when they use it.
I mean it's the war room. If we combined our powers we would fill the entire spectrum.

Pretty sure everyone here has a touch of the tism.
And I would appreciate you being a contributing member of the sub forum. But we can't always get what we want can we?

Hasek literally dragged tire fire teams in Buffalo to relevance. Brodeur and Roy had great supporting casts in their runs.

His style of goaltending is something we haven't seen since either.

Is it that he's a can that calls out guys leaving their prime to try and appear relevant?

@skysolo what say you?

I was staying at a hotel in Buffalo for a tournament as a kid and we heard Hasek was staying there as well, so we took a break from hallway mini-sticks to bunch together in the lobby looking for him. Guy walks in and the first thing he says is that if there are going to be kids playing mini-sticks in the halls he's going to stay at another hotel, so the staff ushered us all to bed.

Hasek can go fuck himself imo.

Lame.

My first real experience was watching the Czech Republic team win the Nagano gold medal. Hasek, Jagr... that national team was fun to watch.

Oh yeah. I've actually said my piece in F53 quite a bit. He's a pretender. He's had opportunities to fight all of the big names, Golovkin, Jacobs, Canelo - he always has an excuse. This last time it was the money.. wait, no it wasn't the money, it's that he can't get ready in time (with over 12 weeks before fight day). Canelo needs to call back later, and Saunders will fight for free. Blah blah blah.

He pulled similar things with Murray. Said he was injured and couldn't fight, while simultaneously trying to secure a deal with Golovkin behind closed doors. He's trying to position himself for one big payday. I hope he never gets it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels that way.

Every time I hear him pipe up about GGG was after a Canelo fight (both fucking robberies as far as I am concerned), or other guys after they looked vulnerable. That's the one thing I love about the eastern Euro/former Soviet fighters is how blunt they are. There was an interview with GGG that I can't find where he was asked about a Saunders fight:
"Sure, if he can stop coming up with excuses"

And he left it at that.

Saunders has skills but he feels like a wannabe McGregor or Sonnen, talk himself up but he just can't talk as well.

EDIT:
He has skills, no denying that.... it's just he seems overly protective of his record as there's always an excuse when he has time to train for a fight and shit.

I believe he was a notorious scumbag in Buffalo.

But nobody went pipe to pipe like him.

Eh the first fight should've gone Golovkins way but that second fight was no robbery. Even Abel Sanchez said they lost right after. Saul turned the table that second fight, and did to Golovkin what Golovkin did to him the first time.

He has skills but not the discipline. He gets out of shape between fights, sometimes shows up to fights out of shape. That, combined with his reluctance to fight anyone at the top and his shitty personality, I'm surprised he has fans.

I'd like to see the fight though. I think Canelo has been in with better pure-boxers, but Saunders will make it fun for the first half before his guts get beat up.

I scored it as GGG won the first fight, and the argument for a draw in the second one makes sense.

I'm still gotten to about it.

I wouldn't say that's a bad card. But if you scored it a draw, is one point going either way really a "robbery"? I think that term gets thrown around too much.

I'M GOTTEN TO OK!!!!! LEAVE ME BE!

Especially with how both fights felt like hometown cooking for Canelo. And because I can't stand Oscar De La Hoya as a promoter. Guy is almost as scummy as King and Arum only he was a boxer so no one calls him on his shit save for Dana about the Tito/Chuck III fight.

EDIT:
I agree it wasn't a robbery. More so with how I felt about the first fight the second fight left and even more sour taste in my mouth.

Oh man, come on by the boxing forum. We burn ol' fishnets all the time.

Legit laughed out loud at that one.

Do you think a man who plays saxaphone in a Sasquatch outfit does drugs tho? I think that's the only time @tonni and I have disagreed on anything.
You mean when I said I don't like people who are drug dependent and make excuses for it? Very controversial statement, all the junkies got up out of their couch and were like dude have you even seen my doodles
