War Room Lounge v145: I never played it. Is it basically grand theft horsey?

If Dems are willing to have him at their convention just as a "gotcha" towards Trump, then it really doesn't say anything about their core values?
Thought you were talking about him being the sane one in the race. If the dnc actually brings him it seems stupid and counter productive

He was the sanest one in a race of neanderthals, that doesn't dispute my factual claim that he was the adult in the room compared to the likes of Trump or Jedidiah Bush, who couldn't even outdo beloved artist George W. Bush.

And yet, he was still the most responsible one in the room other than the moderators. What does that tell you, about both sides?

Rubio at the time was likely considered more moderate than Kasich.

But since than Rubio has gone full bootlicker while Kasich has been steadfast.

Kasich would never have been considered a moderate pre 2016.

He is a big Pro Life guy.

It just goes to show how far the Pro Life movement has gone of the rails and if you aren't a complete piece of shit you are considered a moderate

But he wasn't sane. He is hardcore conservative. He might have acted like an adult compared to the rest, but that bar is so low as to be meaningless

Agreed. My how context, perspective and time are ever so relevant.

I agree. Was playing devil's advocate.

Here's why I think a lot of liberals like Kasich:

I had a conversation with one of the members of the legislature the other day. I said, "I respect the fact that you believe in small government. I do, too. I also know that you're a person of faith. Now, when you die and get to the meeting with St. Peter, he's probably not going to ask you much about what you did about keeping government small. But he is going to ask you what you did for the poor. You better have a good answer."

Now, his policy in a lot of areas is really destructive, and I certainly wouldn't want him to be in president or having any real power to affect policy. There are really important disagreements here, but that was a courageous stance, and you gotta respect him for taking it (and for taking the Medicaid expansion, which is what he was talking about).

They don't seem to be taking any policy advice from him.

If it helps you in the rustbelt I say go for it.

Sanest. I keep trying to ninja edit my replies to better attribute towards my thoughts, but I gotta be quick :P

He was the *sanest* because he knew that he was in a clusterfuck, so tried to present himself as a moderate. It worked to a certain degree, regardless of his actual views, because he ended up being contrasted against Donald J. Trump, who used to sound like a democrat/libera/moderate, then went completely far right for the votes.

Aye. I was having convos with people who were against the idea. Me? Personally? I literally just found out about it reading this thread, and decided to jump in :P

I went to see it with an ex-gf that I was still into, but the line was too long, and we watched As Good as it Gets instead. Turned out to be one of the best nights of my life, and I privately vowed never to watch it.
I love As Good as it Gets but something tells me the movie alone wasn't what made that one of the best nights of your life.

Can we actually start a Discord? I need some human interaction.

What do you guys think of Titanic? Legit good movie or blockbuster schlock?
It's a legit classic, imo. But that's because James Cameron is a prototypical director, and knows how to shoot a great movie. Obviously everyone would've liked less relationship, more ship - but he picked a valid formula to keep both historians enticed, and fangirls buying enough tickets with their bfs to literally become the biggest box office seller until Avatar.

I think it's funny how Michael Bay, a much less talented director, chose to go the same exact route with Pearl Harbor. Now that movie is considered one of the worst.

Could always go outside and hug the first homeless person you find.

You know, I do give more than I can afford to homeless people. Can't help myself. Whether it's a sandwich from Wawa or a fiver on a street corner.

Edit: No hugs though.

damn. supposedly Michael Brooks passed away today..

A hug is worth more than any breaded substance or paper can give, friend. Believe in the power of the heart.
