Is there some context to this lol?

For some reason I find (presumably) adult Pokemon geeking a bit disturbing.
Its aimed at a very young target demo so its natural. At least some other stuff like superhero shit is ostensibly aimed at a somewhat older demographic but Pokemon is unambiguously for kids.

Thing is like a lot of Nintendo's games the fact that they're targeted at kids simply means they are simple and easy to learn but not necessarily lacking in depth, in fact they tend to be great games. Pokemon in particular is just a well designed game from top to bottom.

Anything else is asking too much of me. Cards and the show and so on do not interest me at all.

Sometimes I think "poor training" or "more training" or "better training" are kind of general ideas that miss the mark a bit. Maybe training doesn't matter as much as we think and its other factors involved that is leading to police brutality.

You would know better than I though.

I just created a thread before reading your exchange.

I think the ''more training'' thing is probably missing the mark. It doesn't ask the question whether officer's training already encourages police brutality.

Look at those officers nodding their heads. They're thinking ''not me, when the time comes, I'm ready to pull the trigger.'' Any reluctance to use deadly force (and for many officers, I am sure there's little to begin with) is being squeezed out of them by their training and police culture.

One of the very few things that I and JamesRussler agreed upon when he was here was that the police in the U.S. are out of control.

For Rick and Morty fans, the Mom, aka Second Becky from Rosanne, aka Sarah Chalke, is on https://www.cbc.ca/radio/q
It's live right now, podcast probably would be available in a day or so. Cool interview.

We have to do a use of force report for anything beyond routine handcuffing, even if no intermediate weapons are used. I don’t know if it’s different anywhere else, but I do know that the tasers automatically record when used and that’s from the manufacturer.

Only ones with poor training. Of course, I’ve come to the conclusion that there’s an abundance of poor training going on.
Well, that is why I would say there's nothing wrong with funding police departments, rather the issue is what they spend the money on. Why are they buying all this military gear and then having cops complain they aren't getting paid or trained well enough?

I can't recall where I found the source now so I'm afraid you'll just have to take my word for it, but I read an article quite a while back showing multiple municipalities significantly reduced shootings in particular and use of force incidents in general by implementing training on deescalation and so on. Training will help. It will also help weed out so-called bad apples if you get rid of people who take to it poorly.

Now, on the other hand, since I listened to a podcast recently that talked about how in New York, they show continual reduction in crime rate by simply not recording them so take that FWIW.

She's Elliot from Scrubs you heathen.
Never watched it so I wouldn't know. I don't think I even owned a TV most of the time it was on the air.

Was it good? Did they win any awards for most punchable faces in a sitcom cast?

And can't just say thanks for the link?

Not when you besmirch Elliot like that.

And it is my favorite show. So I think it was good.

And Zach Braff probably got a punchable face award or two.
