So explain something to me.

Why was one of my posts deleted saying "Use the meme thread" when it was topical, and the responding post that posted outright lies via image macros is still intact?

Seems like some fuck shit to me.

@Prokofievian, regarding the horizon problem, as I understand it (and please correct me if I'm wrong), the main issue appears to be that you don't know the ideal minimum you have to push back the horizon in any given instance without pushing it all the way to find out. I was just wondering whether this could be minimized by doing just that over and over to produce a statistical measure of how far you should need to go before diminishing returns set in. Of course, it could just as easily be an insurmountable problem in AI and that would be really interesting.

Edit: I gather this is what you were referring to in the chess thread,
Yeah, this happens quite often. I think there's a random search component to the algorithm that would explain the behaviour.
I realize it was only the label I didn't recall seeing before.

Can you link the post you are talking about?

Regarding memes, they are deleted even if on topic. We’ve decided they should be confined to that thread for a variety of reasons.

They use the Wonderlic test, right? The NFL uses the same test, and supposedly they don't like it when players score too high.
The Wonderlic is a legit weird test.

Not sure why but I constantly see people try to talk about what percentile they are in for intelligence on the internet (not just sherdog) but never see this even once in real life. Is this a meme about internet culture cause it really should be for how frequently it comes up.

I forget, but a few years ago there was some popular "intellitest" people would take online & douches would actually include it in their email sigs if they got high scores.
