It happens here too, sadly its a job with no benefits and low pay so it does gets personnel that really should not have the jobs.

Elder abuse is terrible and sadly rampant. Nobody gives a fuck about the elderly - just check out any covid thread - and this makes them quite vulnerable.

My ex worked in training people to recognize the signs of elder abuse. In one bizarre case, someone's grand daughter was force feeding their grandfather kilograms of bananas every day. No one knows why. But literally, kilograms. And nobody took him seriously when he said his daughter was force feeding him whole boxes of bananas at a time because he had dementia.
