Japan definitely has some deep seeded cultural issues with the Chinese. It was outlawed for a while after WW2 since y'know, they basically raped the country, but it's cropped up in recent years especially since Shinzo Abe has made no qualms about embracing nationalism.

It's no coincidence that they've been becoming more brazen about the Yasukuni Shrine in recent years. They genuinely don't believe they did anything wrong. The Chinese are basically barbarians to them. Which again is trying to get away from that whole Chinese influence in their culture thing.

And it's not just toward China. Japan still refuses to take any responsibility for the prolonged violence toward Korea and the massive farming of sex slaves from the Korean peninsula.

Even as Japan faces existential crisis in China's shadow, they refuse to iron out relations with their strongest regional ally, South Korea, by making the most modest of diplomatic concessions.

And I see where this is headed. Not interested. You could make a poll in the WR and the results would be overwhelming China in terms of who is more aggro in Asian when compared with Japan. I’d reckon most people see it like this too off the forum.

Well, I would hope that a country that a couple of generations ago committed some of the worst atrocities in history isn't being aggressive at all.

Being more aggressive than Japan by itself is a very low bar. Japan + its American ally however...
