War Room Lounge v116: Where does the "incestuous" part come in though? That's the juicy part.

Been that way for weeks! I can't see a proper search function ever since.

The migration thing affected multiple sites with who owns sherdog so the fixes also affect each site as well. I'm not sure how long the fixes take but the other piece of it is they have to fix more than sherdog so we have to just wait until they get to us.

Acquired: an even number of socks
Current Inventory: an odd number of socks

Thought this said stocks at first. I do need to rotate out the socks I have. I don't like periodically buying them as the matching can get annoying. Much easier to just get 2-3 packs and dump it all when the time comes.

Yeah. Problem solving skills can only be developed in Ivy League schools and a nimble mind is the exclusive territory of scholars and book worms.

Having said that, I think Fawlty ment his comment as the guy doesn't make his living dealing in theories and esoteric, mind in the cloud fart smelling. As a "layman thinker" I didn't take offense.

You're probably right. Of course, that could have just been said. What's more, it's pretty obvious that I'm not the only one who sees the issue with it - I'm just the one bitching about it the most.

Also, that's the good thing about "laymen thinkers" - they don't tend to make getting offended a pastime. It's up to people like me to get in a tizzy about everything, which I suppose is precisely what I'm doing, pulling a "What do you mean by 'you people'?" I guess I'll be offended on your behalf then.

Did you never interact with him as MMAGirlie or ehtheist?

Well, not mu... Wait - I mean, not at all!

Are these the ones we've settled on? Been a while since I had speculation as to what ex-poster I am. This is the second time for the second name to pop up.

I don't want to be the guy humble-bragging about how many socks I buy and how freely I toss them away, like some rich motherfucker, but yes I'm also a fan of buying lots of new ones instead of trying to integrate them into some kind of mongrel assortment.

You admitted it in an earlier thread so I don't know why you're kind of implying a denial (I guess you're trying to avoid straight-up lying by implying a denial rather than openly denying it, but I don't know why you're not just admitting it).

Can you get me a quote on that admission Jack? I'm both genuinely curious and genuinely in the dark.

First, can you clarify that you are denying that you are ehtheist? If so, I'll quote it immediately.

I'm not Ehtheist.

It's more that no one cares and you keep bringing it up (not just in this thread, either). Heck, even the Canadians in the WR don't care about Canadian politics. And you were originally trying to be on your best behavior with the latest account, but you can't help slipping into trolldom. Has Ansell-Pearson put out anything interesting lately?

I care? That's sufficient for me to bring it up. As for the trolling thing, yeah, I've been laid low by dandelions recently. I suddenly have a lot of time to sit in my basement office and find distractions from marking papers all day.

As for the last question... Somewhat, if you're interested in Bergson. You should go to Researchgate and look him up - you can download a number of his papers there for free, without an account, I think. He seems reasonably responsive to requests to view his work, but I'm not sure if that will be true of someone who doesn't know him. Other than that, he's returning to his roots and doing some Nietzsche stuff the last I checked.

For anyone who doesn't get this, here (can't link to it, but you can do a Google search):

I've been attending Universities Canada, the U.S., and England, on and off since 2000, and students pretty much tee-off on any non-institutionally left-wing politicians at large. When I was at Warwick in 2006 I was a bloody pariah because my passport listed the country where Bush was the boss and I was literally the butt of jokes because of someone I never voted for. Worst bloody year of my life - other than getting to study under Keith Ansell-Pearson - because "enlightened" and "tolerant" young academics thought it was good fun to make the American a laughingstock in their little cliques.

That's with your ehtheist account.

Did you get the right quote here? I did study under Keith Ansell-Pearson, that's true. That's the admission that I'm the same poster?

my daughter in law gave me some socks with my grand daughter's face on them. one set are happy socks, one are crabby socks.

Well I wouldn’t say I’m quick to toss out the old batch. It’s usually when I get down to maybe a weeks supply remaining. The inconvenience of that is far better than having 3-4 assortments to match with. You’d think sock manufacturers would just get one the same damn page about the toe color and cut of a sock.

I call the coined term “sock portfolio” and I’m going to try to sell it to the Always Sunny show writers.

Mostly with you here but what is a week's supply of socks? I don't measure them on such timescales.

I’d say seven unless I somehow use the same set twice.

Are you wearing them just once, or wearing them until they are unservicable? I'm not getting what you mean, and I'm late for work. This is going to eat at me all day tbh.

The week supply thing means what is remaining of the serviceable ones. I don’t know how long it’s takes for each sock to become unserviceable. Usually once a hole shows up and I finally decide to pitch it.
