War Room Lounge v116: Where does the "incestuous" part come in though? That's the juicy part.

Are you wearing them just once, or wearing them until they are unservicable? I'm not getting what you mean, and I'm late for work. This is going to eat at me all day tbh.

LOL If he does laundry say once a week and does not wear them like you do your underwear (normal, inside out, inside out backwards, etc.) how many pairs of socks should he have in his the drawer????????

Second thought,
But seriously, it caught on mainly due to the idea of the golden rule and everyone thinking for themselves what it means to "believe on Jesus", imo, but was subsequently co-opted by moneyed/political interests and turned into the very thing Jesus railed against when he was in Jerusalem. Now you have preachers on TV saying, "Just help me buy another jet and you'll be assured of salvation in Jesus' name."

Mmmmm, not so sure about that. Basically all religions have some version of the Golden Rule, even the ancient ones. I really don't think Christianity was unique in this matter.

It may have been unique in its focus on the oppressed and downtrodden though. Prior to Constantine converting, Christianity was the religion of the persecuted. Of course, it then slowly became the persecutors.

Do you think Christians were the most crazy or perhaps between the coin flip between the 3 they just happened to be the luckier ones? Also, with Islam attacking them for centuries especially on the south of Europe which sparked the crusades do you think maybe they fought for what was a defensive position?

As for Judaism, do you think they might have came out on top because they stayed and watched the other two fight while playing both sides?

Wut? Islamic forays into southern Europe (by this time, most of Iberia was already re-conquered by Christians) is what caused mostly French and English knights to invade Muslim land? That's absolutely laughable. The Crusades was an act of aggression by one imperialist group towards another imperialist group.

And I don't know what you mean by Judaism "coming out on top." Their numbers have always been far, far smaller than the other two, and the level of persecution they've experienced (especially from Christians) has been greater than anything the other two experienced. Doesn't sound like they're on top at all.

The reason the people from one branch of Judaism are unusually well-off is because they've had very different religious goals from the other two. Christianity and Islam have been proselytizing from the beginning. Their mission was always to convert as many people as possible and to win as many souls as possible for their god.

But Judaism is an ethno-religious group. They're not out trying to convince people that theirs is the true faith. They're the chosen people and that's it. They allow converts but the vast majority of its adherents get there through ancestry. So their numbers have always been far smaller and they've built up solidarity between themselves.

Ahhh, Christian victimhood and paranoia about Jews running the world. White nationalists are gonna white nationalist, I guess. Never change, Sketch.

To add, Quebec has something like 40% of the 8mm population over age of 65. If we want to stimulate the economy the govt can hire a couple hundred thousand long term care workers so theses people are not dying of dehydration with shit exploding diapers.

Next thread title?

Just watched the first episode of Making a Murderer (after the fantastic Evil Genius).

Uuuuuuhm...wtf? What's the general opinion on Steve Avery?

Get ready for a bunch of cuts to Wisconsin scenery while listening to empty prison calls of "yea?", "..yea".

I don't know what consensus was but when the show got released, people took his side because of how the documentary presented the case. If you read any outside article about what they didn't mention, you will realize they took the side of the defendants and really really mislead the audience to make a decision for themselves.

What are your thoughts on the link between Zoroastrianism and early Judaism? I remember my professor told me that there's even speculation among scholars that Abraham was a Zoroastrian himself because this religion had started catching in the area where he came from.

Which would make Zoroastrianism the first monotheistic religion in the region- not Judaism. Dun dun duuuuuuuuuun! And most importantly, it could mean Judaism didn't start spontaneously, but rather as an offshoot of another religion.
I had heard the same general thing about Atenism, which if I recall correctly predates Zoroastrianism by a few centuries.

If I remember correctly it seemed like he for sure did it. His mentally handicapped nephew gave a pretty chilling statement against him in graphic detail about what he did.

I have to disagree on the basis of how strict The Law is in the Jewish tradition. Contrast, "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth," and "If an enemy smite thy cheek, turn the other to him also," for example. Jesus replaced the 10 commandments with 2, and one of them was the golden rule.

Kinda reminds me of an inmate who was in Guantanamo innocently. I thought that if he wasn't super dangerous before, he sure is now.

Didn’t you ever watch The Night Of on HBO? It kinda plays with that premise.

I believe the scholarly consensus is that Judaism adapted to Zoroastrianism to some degree after the Persian conquest, and not that Judaism came from it.

Could be misremembering though.

Yeah this one is painfully obvious
These trolls that get off on feeling like they're tricking the internet.... man, it's pathetic lol
Idk man. The guy’s name is “Not Ehtheist.” I highly doubt that he’s in fact Ehtheist. Unless... he’s a liar?

I call the coined term “sock portfolio” and I’m going to try to sell it to the Always Sunny show writers.
I'm trying to imagine traders on the sock exchange lol.

But since they have them for all sorts of commodities, tuna, beef, pork, all types of crops, I wouldn't be surprised if it really exists already.

Damn Trump's make up person needs to step up. He straight up looks like he's wearing a mask.
