So, during the earthquake and aftershocks we've had out here.... somehow the glass on one of my watches cracked completely in half fell off the watch.

Interesting.

The context of those tweets are exceptionally bad, even by bad standards. You have a multi-billion dollar owner (mind you he is the founder of Apollo Global Management, so, yea), cutting staff pay by 20%, while a player, on that exact same team, is putting his money towards helping the staff survive the pay cut.

I mean, I don't know how to even discuss something like that.

It just me or does this advertisement picture or Entrepreneur make it look like this guy is working next to a dead body in a bag?

Or is this just a Rorschach test showing that I'm a murderer
I saw an alien taking an order

It’s a cheap knock off chinese brand but still. Fucking wild.

I need to find a local repair place to see if they can replace it for me

Take a look at this fucking hack job that's making its way around social media. Of course, this guy thinks that "diversity-themed" provisions aimed at protecting workers and evening the burden of the crisis is liberal subterfuge unrelated to the pandemic, but Republicans packing in unfettered giveways to their corporate donors akin to the 2017 tax bill is all good.

Fuck that asshole. The fact that he didn’t touch the Republican proposal to provide for a $500b slush fund to be used at Trump’s discretion shows he’s a complete hack.

Democrats prefer stimulus that is addressed via democratic causes. And yeah, something like student loan forgiveness kills two birds with one stone, so to speak. These “hot takes” hacks should have the decency to chill out during a crisis.

I've brought this up before, but it's especially outrageous that this stuff is coming from the same people who fought any stimulus at all, allegedly on principle! Economic crisis with a Democratic president: "OMG! Forget about stimulus, we need to immediately slash deficits. The debt is going to crush us! Think of the children!" Economic crisis with a Republican president: "Can you believe these evil Democrats not completely 100% agreeing with us about the contents of the stimulus package and signing it immediately?! Monsters!!!" And no one feels the need to even try to justify their huge change of (stated) beliefs or even acknowledge it. No way should Democrats go along with this (even getting most of what they want) without assurance that no matter who wins in November, more stimulus will be delivered if necessary (and it almost certainly will be necessary).

Can’t blame people for making opinion pieces like this when part of dems demands are BS like mandating skin colors for corporate boards and carbon taxing

Dems fucked this one up. Should have kept it to requiring corporations who receive handouts to not buy back stocks or give bonuses

That’s not exactly what he’s complaining about though. He is fucking complaining about things like early voting and mail in ballots!! During a pandemic!!

If that was the sticking point, then why wasn't that what was addressed? Mnuchin already said negotiations on that were going well until Pelosi entered the picture. She x7 the size of the bill with shit like diversity quotas and carbon emission limits. Why not just rewrite the slush fund rules if that is what was so offensive and call it a day?

Because that is a massive change to put into a bill about short-term relief. The election is months off. How to handle the election should be a large debate that should play out over months. This bill is about saving people and companies that will be bankrupt in two weeks.

My understanding is Democrats asked them to take it out. And when pushed to remove the possibility Trump would direct funds to his properties he said “we’ll see about that”.

I don’t know where the current negotiations stand, though.

Asking people to go to the polls to vote during a pandemic will get people killed! This provision is specifically aimed at saving lives!

But the children!

Its about saving lives immediately. Making sweeping changes to our election system isn't something that should be done overnight. That should be its own bill that gets debated separately.
