I know who Rocky Bleier is. I just never watched the film.

Right on. This is a TV movie from 1980 that's mainly about his struggle to come back from his war injuries. Not sure who overcame more physically to win a ring in a major US sport.

Maybe worth watching. I usually prefer a Documentary at best for football. I think I've most seen all I need to about that 70's dynasty though.

I think you have a strong enough aversion to the thought of America's racial demographics changing that you are willing to advocate policy that would hurt the country

What's your evidence that I have an aversion to America's racial demographics changing? You've accused me of that before, and I've always denied it.

Idk if golf is a sport, but either way Caddy Shack is the greatest sports movie.

Also nobody has said Hoop Dreams, Field of Dreams, or Hoosiers yet I think

Never cared for Field of Dreams, but Hoosiers was very good. Best sports movie is probably Bull Durham.

Consider it an example, not a recommendation.

On the concept of great sports movies, I'll add Bad News Bears, The Sandlot, and Major League.

Mentioning Cliff reminds me of Ring of Fire, another really great sports movie (documentary about Emile Griffith). Sitting in Limbo is played over the credits, and it's kind of brutal (the way the song and what you saw play on each other kind of wrecks me for some reason).

BTW, check this out if you haven't seen it. John Jeremiah Sullivan on Bunny Wailer.

That was a good read, thanks.

I didn't know who the other Wailers were when I went to Bob's mausoleum as a kid. Got an earful about it from a guy with the most horrifyingly messed up leg I have ever seen. I had broken my ankle (don't ever do that in a third world country lol) and was walking with a cane. I heard some guy say "hey Junior, ya got a bad left?" and it didn't click what he was asking me so I was like, "Uh...what?" He said "I got a bad left too" and took pulled aside something he had covering his leg. Dude's shin was twisted and shriveled, and his calf was probably gangrenous, or something that made it look like it was being eaten away.

Anyway, he sat me down and talked my ear off, and gave me a good lecture about the ills of commercial music, and made sure I knew who Bunny and Tosh were. Good times.

You are all mistaken, slapshot is the best sports movie

"Major League" for me. It's a comedy, it's a drama, it's a romance, it's an emotional sports story. It's a damn near perfect film.

"Cinderella Man" is also underrated. Albeit, it does have the worst title ever.

It's hardly an "accusation." Your thinking on the issue appears irrational otherwise. If I'm wrong (about both the irrationality of your position on immigration and the motive), by all means, educate me. Given what we know about the impact of immigration on crime and various aspects of the economy, what we know about aging patterns and birthrates, and what we know about trends in unauthorized immigration in America (the huge drop in illegal crossings over the past decade and the declines in the total unauthorized immigrant population over that period, for example), why would you now see this as an important issue that we should divert scarce resources to? I'm gathering that you support Trump's shift in priority for ICE from catching violent criminals who shouldn't be here to harassing ordinary people. Why is that? And given that you normally present yourself as a supporter of the U.S. Constitution, why do you make an exception in this case?

"All 12 defendants are members of the GRU, a Russian federation intelligence agency within the main intelligence directorate of the Russian military, who were acting in "their official capacities."
Isn't the GRU the fucking Assassin portion of the KGB too that always fucks my day up in Metal Gear Solid?

Separate from politics but my dad is trying to sell the family 1984 Bronco. Got a cashier's check from some dude (truck still in our possession)... check won't clear bank.

Told him to call the cops cause it could be an honest mistake where banks aren't communicating but if someone DID try to defraud him I kinda want to see whoever pulled it get buttfucked by the long arm of the law with the law using chalk as lube.
