I'm seeing so many more cast iron skillet vids/recipes lately

especially for steak and pizza
Things on my kitchen list for when I move out on my own:
- Ninja foodi (it’s like an instant pot that has a pressure cooker feature and air fryer feature too)
- lodge cast iron skillet

Papua New Guinea?

you go there for work often?

Not anymore. My parents started a school there (that was their first "retirement") and ran it for a decade (the school's still going). They used to get me to come out and do their IT (limited though it was).

I've always wanted to visit that entire region
For some odd reason, i had the chance to study abroad in HS in Australia, but i didn't believe my stepdad would actually pay for it so I said no.

I'll always regret that decision.

Have you been to the outlying territories like Norfolk Island or the Cocos/Keeling Islands?
wild that he Clunies Ross family basically owned Cocos like a fiefdom until relatively recently

Forgive me if this a stupid question, but how do you normally cook them?

Smoker, gas grill, charcoal, etc...

Probably going to move in w/ the gf soon, and thinking of getting a grill. Just seeing what the consensus is

Get yourself a charcoal grill. It’s super nice

Then if you need some space to yourself while living with the gf, you can always go “light the briquettes” which involves sitting out on the deck or in driveway with a beer and nobody bothering you. Win win

We have a gas grill but I also cook them on a stove using a cast iron skillet. It depends on the recipe.

If I marinate the chops the day before I use the grill. If I buy the chops that day I use the cast iron so I can baste it while it cooks

Wow. Makes me feel a type of way. Like, that billion could have been put to use in so many ways we actually talk about immediately, rather than all this. The 500 million alone could have done so much good rather than seeing his face every 20 minutes.

To be fair he's paying his campaign team very good money with benefits and they are all contracted through November (hence why I think he's going to turn it into a Super Pac).

He's also a member of the Giving Pledge

Good call, i had a Weber at my old house but it literally blew away in a massive sandstorm, Scorpion King style

Also, as to your last point, that's partly why i detail her and my car every weekend. I find it relaxing, but it also gets me my own time/space. i even have a dual action polisher, foam gun and everything, not playing around

You ever look at the carb content even in like bran flakes?

Special K has 13g of carbs, no fiber
Corn Flakes 62g of carbs

Stuff I found, Catalina Crunch tastes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch.... 11 grams of carbs with 6 grams of fiber for a net of 5 grams of carbs.

I’m not on a keto diet but being diabetic even under control diabetic I have to count carbs to a point. Regular store cereal doesn’t cut it
id hate to have to watch my diet, a friend of mine is celieac, he takes 2 hours to get his food shopping cos he has to read every ingredient list in minute detail

If it actually leads to Trump losing in November (that is, if it's a difference-maker), that would actually be one of the best ways he could spend it to make the world better. I think that political spending is generally pretty ineffective, but the scale in the primary was unprecedented, and it might be unprecedented in the general, too.

No. Most of my traveling has been in the larger S E Asian countries. I considered going to Norfolk Island just because one of my ancestors was a Warden there, but in terms of holidays I really prefer to go places where I can hire and ride a bike.

That’s how I was initially too. Now though I know what I can have in abundance (chicken/fish/beef), what I can have but be wary of too much due to salt content (bacon), what I can have like once a week (pasta) and what alternatives I can use for rice (quinoa) and I overload on stuff like spinach, Chinese cabbage or Napa cabbage, and like broccoli.

I generally avoid anything I can in a box or jar which has forced me to learn how to make like vodka sauce, BBQ sauce so I can reduce the sugar content and other stuff

EDIT:
That said I miss rice. Butter chicken last week for my weekly lunches and Japanese curry this week. But with quinoa. The texture doesn’t feel right.

Not sure my track record on predicting elections. I'm exceedingly pessimistic, so that kind of skews it. Only election I was really confident in was Obama in 2008.

And down ballot I really had hope/faith that Florida would go blue in 2018 since the Republican candidates were so historically awful, either because they were mega-corrupt aliens (Rick Scott) or cartoon character sycophants (DeSantis). Of course, I'll never put faith in that shit hole state again.

It's really great that right wingers can call other people "cucks" while voting for spineless grovelers like this.

DeSantis has been great for FL so far.
