Depends. The American engineering authority (whatever it's called) sent auditors to my alma mater because no one was failing the exam (except for 2 civ E's, who, lets be honest, are the ringos of the engineering world), and they suspected us of cheating. Apparently some people fail that shit, though.

Looking at a practice exam I found, I really regret not taking this right out of college. So many "Oh, I used to know how to do that" moments. Y to Delta transformer conversions are easy but....what do I do again?

Fucking lol at the Civil engineer comment. Spot on tho.

Like....small voltage of course. But like the joke lighters that electrocute you when you push down on them. It's kind of a rush. Like doing whippets. Or having car batteries clamped to your nipples.

So final week of Mardi Gras, my liver is fucking toasted. And my alcoholic grandma just landed for a surprise visit during perhaps the craziest week anywhere in the entire country.

I was working for a company that had bought an old manufacturing plant and converted it to a warehouse. The power factor was all fucked up. The engineer from the utility company came out and told the company that they were going to have to replace the transformers because they weren't using enough power to correct the problem.

Boss came to me and told me it was going to cost a ridiculous number. I said fuck that and I designed and built a capacitor bank. I have had several interactions with electrical engineers that have made me question their education.

I'm an idiot, but come on. If an electrical engineer is going to be designing systems for construction, they cant just put a little note telling me that the system must follow the NEC, and not know dick about the NEC. I will rail their ass on the change order.

i'm not saying it rivals Mardi Gras

but my HS Senior Trip was to Myrtle Beach, straddling both Bike Week and then Black Bike Week right after

The dichotomy in those two respective crowds, both filling and then leaving the city quickly was the wildest thing I've ever witnessed
Regular bike week had, in my estimation, a 75% Confederate Flag sporting ratio

That's pretty huge around here with the massive conventions and festivals we get. I did love when the Swingers convention matches up with the Farmers convention though.

I'm pretty fucking exhausted from working with tourists already though. And we have about a million flying in this week. Last year Mardi Gras ended and Spring Break started a day later followed by Saint Paddy's Day. It was absolutely exhausting.

Hell today I've been dealing with the dumbest motherfuckers. "Ten years ago we ate at this place... It had a courtyard.... They sold gumbo"

Then they get pissy when I try to explain there's like two hundred and fifty restaurants in this neighborhood.

Worth it though, this is a block from where I work.

Not many confederate flags during black bike week? But so many blacks live in the South and I was told it’s totally not a racist symbol...
