Social War Room Lounge Thread #325: PotWR Edition

Do it if you're able. The smokey's are awesome. Would rather have experience than things but sometimes the two overlap.
Its only been 2 years since trading in my jeep for a rav4. I probably will need to wait a bit longer before making another change. The only way I can justify it is if I get the Ford maverick with a hybrid engine. At least then I can tell myself I'll save on gas.

But there's no reason why I need a new vehicle to road trip out there.

Its cool. There is always a balance. Its why I chose to spend my money on travel but these things are cool as well. I could visit 10 countries for less the cost of a new vehicle or camper.

They? Did you get confused swapping alts or something? My comment was not directed at you in any way.
I know I was just joking

I don't have an alt. I have an old account called Unicron from 2003 but I forgot the password and made this one in 2015

Love this brotha. Always wanted a boat. My wife was against it so here I am. But that's living life. Cheers to that. Def want to hire a boat and sail somewhere like BVI. Also enjoyed the Bahamas. Didnt sail there but enjoyed it. How far have you gone?

We were in Germany during Covid. Wife and I started watching sailing channels.

Came back to the US and saw where the military was going and said FUCK THIS WOKE SHIT. Tired of hearing stories and seeing pictures of my kid growing up. Quit the Army. Accelerated the timeline. Now I spend 24/7 with wife and kid.

Sold all our shit or stored it. Took a couple of sailing lessons and went shopping. Bought the boat and took off October 2023. Did 6 months in the bahamas while homeschooling my kid.

Refit the boat over hurricane season. Now headed South again with no intentions of coming back. Headed to Turks and Caicos next week. Probably Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico by April. BVI by April or early May.

Weather controls your life. You don't get to sail when you want. And your boat? It's always trying to break. I'm now a diesel mechanic, generator mechanic, electrician, plumber, seamstress, etc.

But it's totally worth it.

Having all kinds of adventures.

Very jealous bud. That is an incredible experience you wont forget. Even the difficult trips can be the most memorable imo. My first trip was 3 weeks in Egypt and Israel. No A/C in Cairo, bags flown to southern egypt, Got into a car wreck in Jerusalem. But overall top 2 or 3 trips I've taken. Over time, the difficulties on a trip become nostalgic and part of the story. Sounds like you have the life most dream. Post a few pics along the way. Cheers man.

By the way, this is not a prod but a sincere inquiry--I replied to a post of yours in another thread but you never responded. If you deliberately elected to ignore it for whatever reason it's all good, but in case you just missed it due to too many notifications, I am still curious to hear what you think about my question. No big deal either way.
I'll look for it. Sometimes I get busy and skip ahead a bunch of notificaciones.

@koquerelle
The missus suggested you might find Japanese ingredients you need at these stores,
