Wandy banned for 3 years (retroactive May 2014)

couple fights in Japan this year, then back to Bellator in 2017...

So he's already served almost 2 of the 3 years? Not that big of a deal.
To me just another example of how the NSAC is garbage. They gave Sonnen, with multiple failed tests, a shorter sentence than Wanderlei.

i feel like the proper wording of this would be 'retroactively to may 2017', or retroactively until may 2017, no?

either way, dont care. dudes a cheater, coward, and no longer even a good or exciting fighter.

Depends if there is a stipulation in the NSAC ruling that he is not allowed to compete in other countries. There is probably a penalty for doing so.
the state of Nevada can ban you from competition in other countries?!that sounds like complete bullshit. Not calling you liar as I have no idea myself but that is fucked up if they have that power.

Oh Wand. I still love you, but you've been a fruitcake lately.

cowards don't fight in Open Weight Grand Prix against the best heavies on the planet and he's always been one of the most entertaining fighters on the planet. A cheater...most definetly.

You guys need to chill, Silvas attorney was banking on a suspension so they could take NSAC to the supreme court.
By the time the case was heard the suspension would be done. Wand's lawyer was trying to get 2 years and make it time served but got the extra year.

retroactively from may 2014

he's my favorite fighter ever, but i don't want to see him fight again. he's done. don't care to see him get destroyed or fight cans.

He is past his prime but he is still capable of catching anyone. His last fight was a win against a Top 10 opponent (that was bigger than him)

I wonder if he still wants to F*** Chuck?

They cant prevent you from fighting in another country but they can certainly refuse to license you in Nevada if you go over their head and fight somewhere else when you were under a suspension, especially a reduced suspension. You ever heard the term, dont look a gift horse in the mouth?

If Wanderlei fights overseas during his suspension, we will probably never see him fight in America again. I doubt he would ever get re-licensed.

understandable

Well the NSAC should always give the guy who runs away from a test a more severe suspension then the guy who pisses hot. Otherwise everyone dirty would just run away and later make up some bullshit excuse (ie Wand).

As ridiculous as the lifetime ban was, 3 years retroactive to his running man routine sounds about right.
