Television WANDAVISION Discussion (Dragonlord's Review)

If you have seen the whole season of WANDAVISION, how would you rate it?

It's cool they just let a woman who enslaved and tortured an entire town for weeks act like she's the hero and then just dip out scot free.
“They’ll never know the sacrifice you made”

You mean being mind fucked so Wanda can get her kicks didn’t matter??

Yeah, all was forgiven because he signed a piece of paper.

Well to be fair, he personally saved New York from a nuke launched at it by SHIELD, which would give him a certain amount of leverage.

And then there's all those Billions of dollars in his many bank accounts...;)

Thanos wiped out half the universe. Also, killing him wasn't the primary mission; they wanted to use the Infinity Stones to reverse the Blip. It wasn't until they arrived there they realised that Thanos had destroyed them. Only then did Thor go for the head.

And I agree that Wanda has a lot to answer for. However, there are good reasons why no one is going to try and punish her,

- Wanda had basically undergone a complete psychotic break caused by intense grief/PTSD. While that in no way excuses her actions, it does mitigate them slightly.

- As I pointed out before, Wanda was able to resist attempts by SWORD, an agency specifically set up to deal with, "Sentient Weapons" to break through the Hex. She mind-raped them as easily as she did civilians. When they fired a missile at her, she literally threw it back in their faces. With the Avengers no longer available, the only option for taking Wanda into custody against her will is a full scale military assault. And if Wanda starts throwing full power shots, that means a lot of dead soldiers, and possibly civilians as well.

- Finally, the earth has been invaded by aliens at least twice by now. The powers that be will want to keep Wanda on their side in case someone/something even scarier than her turns up.

Yes, exactly. The third point I think is the most important. Wanda is like our quarterback now. The whole team has been decimated by age and trades so we have to keep our remaining stars happy. If that means a couple bum towns go belly up, so be it.

Being pro-Israel doesn't always mean being anti-Muslim in a broader sense but I take your point.

In any case, people in camps are bad, Wandavision is good, hopefully Mephisto comes

I heard on YouTube that Mephisto might be a no go because of China. Although I'm not familiar with the character and why he'd "offend" China.

Mephisto is the Marvel Universe's equivalent of Satan. He even looks like the classic Devil,

mephisto-in-article.jpg

He makes bargains with humans, offering power etc in exchange for their souls. Of course, he always twists the terms of such bargains, and the people foolish enough make the deal end up being tortured for eternity in, "Hell", which Mephisto rules over. Mephisto has a long and complex history with Doctor Strange and Doctor Doom.

Now, the Chinese have a very weird, retarded culture, partly due to their history of communism, and this includes banning any depiction of the Christian Satan from Chinese media.

I can't get over that Ship of Theseus sequence. Some of the coolest dialog Marvel has ever done imo.

The wonderful British author, Sir Terry Pratchett, used the same logic experiment as a central theme of his Discworld novel, The Fifth Elephant. I've read the book more times than I can remember, but until yesterday I didn't realise that Pratchett, God rest him, was simply paraphrasing the Ship of Theseus.

Every day's a school day:)

Also Re: The Sokovia Accords
I think it's worth pointing out that T'Chaka was leading the charge to regulate other nation's powered individuals while keeping his own a secret.

While the Wakandans are very much the good guys, they can be every bit as selfish and ruthless as any other country when they think it's necessary. Even more so in the comics, where it's revealed the Wakandans have developed a cure for cancer, but refuse to release it to the rest of the world.

That actually made it much more enjoyable watching Doom kick seven shades of shit out of Wakanda when he invaded:)

Just a reminder about what Kevin Feige said in 2019 about Captain Marvel lol.

"Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige altered his previous promise that Captain Marvel would become the most powerful character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). In a press interview leading up to Captain Marvel's release in March 2019, Feige declared Carol Danvers would become Marvel's most powerful character."

I want to personally film a movie where Mephisto shits down the neck of Mao Zedong
