fuck lifting 7 days/week, that's pretty ridiculous, even if it's lighter intensity. I'm not planning to continually run SS anyways, just as long as I can keep getting gains on the 3day split
I think with SS you rest a long time because after a while it is pretty damn intense- doing three sets at near your 5RM. You need the time to recover.
A lot of other programmes don't require as long to rest between the sets. A lot of the time it's because the average intensity is lower- more ramped sets, less volume at the highest level of intensity.
