Yeah Lopes pretty much has to knock Volk out to win this I think. Just because he got knocked out by Islam (he should've never taken that fight) and Topuria doesn't mean he's at the stage where he's going to get knocked out by just about anybody which is where he has to be at to lose to Lopes.

This fight is 50/50 to me. Lopes has a gas tank and power. It all depends on how diminished Volkanovski is. I'm actually leaning Lopes right now.

As for Topuria's next fight..... I think him vs Poirier is far more likely than THE UFC throwing him into a 155lb title fight against Makhachev straight away. If he loses to Makhachev then where does he go from there?

Porier and Topuria have tweeted respectful yhibgscabiytveachbothervandctheg both want the fight and I think UFC will do it as Poirier's farewell fight and Ilia's into to 155lbs.

If Ilia bears Poirier convincingly then he might well get Makhachev next.

As for Volj vs Lopes..... That's interesting fight. If Volk loses I think he really has to retire.

Topuria following the Conor path, just letting go titles. Shame I wanted to see Evloev vs Topuria first. Lopes/Volk makes a fresh matchup but I think Volk is at the end of his rope. Should be a tough test for Lopes.
