Yeah theres plenty LWs that are bigger than Volk and I would have Volk beating the majority of them cause he is better. This just seems like a massive disrespect to Islams skillset and a built-in excuse.

Makhachev is same height as Max Holloway. In fact on tapology.com (fairly accruate usually), Holloway is listed as 5'11" and Makhachev listed as 5'10". so the height thing is NOT new to Volka. He did very well fighting Max 3 times and beating him 3 times.

Yes, Max and Islam are completely different styles, but the height-difference thing really isn't anything new to Alex. He's been punching UPWARDS probably his entire fight career.

I actually see Volk winning the striking with his movement and leg kicks scoring consistent points while remaining elusive.

This fight is going to depend on whether or not Islam can control Volk in the wrestling department. That's easier said than done against someone so compact and powerful as Volk. If Islam can't secure takedowns or control Volk with grappling, I see him losing a point-fighting match via leg kicks.

Always respected, but never cared much about Volk until the last couple of years. He’s been a great champion, very relatable personally to good mate any feller could have and by all accounts he seems like a genuinely nice guy, especially with the fans. I think Islam might just been too big, strong and grapple heavy, but if Alex can pull it of, incredible
