Volk is Undisputed Featherweight GOAT

Absolutely terrible take. Volk was as timid as Carlos condit when he fought Diaz. All he did last night was expose the terrible juding and exposed that he’s afraid to stand in the pocket. All he did was throw pitty patter strikes the whole night and run. Sad to see what he’s become.

Volk is dominating a weak ass era.

His resumé is basically
Max 3x
Out of prime Mendes
Out of prime Aldo
Out of prime TKZ off 1 win
Ortega off 1 win and injury
Yair off 2 wins
Nunes

Aldo fought better competition and cleaned the division twice.

Volk would beat everyone Aldo beat. The other way around i very much doubt Aldo would beat all the guys on Volks resume. Volk is better.
Really doubt Volk would beat a prime Edgar

Plus, Aldo resumé is way better, that makes 0 sense

Aldo getting sent into the shadow realm by Conor in such embarrassing fashion DQ'd him from GOAT status.

That's not how it works. Everything gets better with time. Its about how dominant they were during their era.

Volk is still significantly behind Aldo on ranked opponents, title defenses and title fight wins. Aldo is still FW GOAT.
But we’ll see what Volk does with this reign, it’s possible he could eventually surpass Aldo.

For me the best is the one that would beat most/all others based on a proofen record. I think Volk does better against the FWs than Aldo.

While in his prime he got smoked by Holloway and McGregor. How can he have a better resume? He has more names on his resume thats it.

I have Aldo at 1 ,, I try not to be biased, but I admittedly luv me some Aldo

I am counting just the UFC

Why though? WEC was the top promotion, along with Shooto, for lighter weight classes. Zuffa even owned WEC and merged it with the UFC.

It makes no sense to not count Aldo's WEC reign; it's literally the same title.

GOAT and P4P arguments are so dumb lol....carry on

Because you can only make an argument for Volk if you cherrypick and grade on a curve, and don't give credit to the guys who were the top guys in that era

Aldo won his first 10 FW title fights and only had 1 competitive fight in that whole 6-7 year stretch

Volk won his first 6 title fights with a split decision in there

People love to brag that Volk beat Max 3x
Prime Jose never had any rivalries like that becuase he completely DOMINATED everyone for years.
When the torch was passed to Aldo he didn't need 3 fights to put to bed any question as to who was the best.

"But Volk beating max is better than Aldos whole resume?"

Is it?

Max won the title and defended 3x

Faber won the 145 title and won 9 sttaight as lineal 145 champ.

In that run he beat Dominic Cruz who was a 2x ufc champ who won 7 wec and UFC title fights. And Jens Pulver who won 3 UFC title fights. Plus I think he beat 2 Bellator Champs

Even if you only count the UFC portion of Aldos championship tun... he still has Volk beat in basically every category

More title wins
More consecutive wins
More decisive scorecards on his decision wins. (Aldo only had one single 48-47 by one judge in his entire rub
Volk had a SD where he lost 47-48 and had more 48-47s on that card (2) than Aldos entire championship

It’s a slippery slope but the WEC never promoted with UFC, Everytime UFC bought a rival promotion they only counted one title unifications, would you consider Uriah Faber a UFC Champion considering WEC got bought out by UFC and promoted Jose to champ?

Volk fought Holloway three times because Holloway was the #1 contender and Volk beat everyone. 2/3 of their fights weren't close at all, including the first one.

You can always tell who wasn't around to see Aldo's reign as it happened because it's completely unimpressive to them and all they want to cite is his past prime losses they read about on wikipedia.

Conor exists…..

At a pub near you
Heh... he's gonna be going for a long ride down a short road if he pulls any of his shit with the hillbilly's around these parts...
