Vitor was closest to beat JBJ

During the fight the skin hadn't been broken and it wasn't really noticeable.

Oh, it was noticeable.

Even before this weekend, I bones would handle Gus alot easier in rematch due to a different game plan for starters and not have a point boxing match.Gus, though, still remains jones toughest fight....not Vitor.I put Cormiers fight ahead of Belfort as well.

Fuck me that's nasty, what has been seen , cannot be unseen.

I will say Chael came the closest, if he could of held on for 30 seconds longer. Chael would of finally won UFC gold.

OP: Not really. I'm a big fan of Vitor, but Gus was definitely the closest to beating Jones.

Oddly enough I rewatched Jones-Vitor the other day. Belfort was conpetitive but Jones was by far the suprrior martial-artist. I suppose you could say he was the closest to stopping Jones via the armbar. But of course, Jones was the one who made Belfort tap in the end.

Vitor almost subbed him. Chael and Gus were close to getting doctor stoppages.
Hamill won.

All this talk about Gus these days... While I like his fighting style and his personality, he was 46:49 against JBJ. Whoever doesn't see that is very subjective/doesn't like JBJ/is delusional (FACT is that pretty much all professional MMA analysts gave W to JBJ).

Vitor was few seconds from breaking JBJ's arm. And yes... He destroyed 205 version of Rumble...

In order of closest to victory:

1-Hamill
2-Chael
3-Vitor
4-Gus
5-Machida
6-DC
7-Glover
8-Bonnar
9-Vera
10-Vlad
11-Rampage
12-Bader
13-O'Brien
14-Shogun

Suga didn't really fight, so I left that one out.

Big John and Jones had to beg the doctor for not stop the Jones vs Gus fight between rounds 4 and 5. Doesnt really come closer than that..

lmao at the last line ... it's true though.

1. Vitor had an armbar that lasted 5 seconds. Other than that he was completely dominated the entire fight.

2. Rumbles liver failed the previous night due to a horrible cut to 185. Not to mention there was obvious collusion taking place in that fight.

I do wonder about that. It was a total bullshit stand up. AJ was busy and Vitor was getting owned.

Same thing happened with Cro Cop vs Gonzaga...it just backfired...

I mean if you think that anybody spotted the toe issue before the fight had ended then you can read any play by play by the media or the discussion threads and see.

The gif is from when Jones was preparing to dump him with a double leg and the focus on the live broadcast was on the TD, not their feet.

Quite a bit wrong here. Machida landed only one good punch and got choked out in the second...so how you put him above Cormier, Glover, Bonnar or Rashad is beyond me.

It should be:

1. Hamill (since he technically did win)
2. Vitor (he actually fucked up Jones' arm and was REALLY close to a tap or snap)
3. Chael (27 seconds away from winning via injury)
4. Gus (closest fight, did the most damage)
5. DC (next closest fight)
6. Glover (lost decision but had his moments)
7. Bonnar (won the third round on two judges' scorecards but lost soundly otherwise)
8. Gusmao (kept it fairly competitive but lost all three rounds - won a round on one judge's scorecard though)
9. Rashad (lost every round but lasted to a decision)
10. Machida (had a good 1st round but cut open and choked out in the 2nd)
11. Rampage (lasted to the 4th but didn't do much in the fight before getting choked out)
12. Shogun (got owned and finished in the 3rd)
13. Bader (got owned and finished in the 2nd)
14. O'Brien (got owned and finished even earlier in the 2nd)
15. Vera (got owned and finished in the 1st)
16. Matyushenko (got pounded out in under 2 minutes)

They let Uriah Hall continue with BONE STICKING OUT of his toes. i think they wouldve let jones go if no one noticed it, or just reassure the doc "it was like that"
