Vince McMahon is looking to sell WWE

Seems like most people are speculating it'll be NBC buying them out. Very interested to see how this goes.

Oh look at the triggered WWE mark. WWE is garbage for pigs. Men watch AEW.
I’m just pointing out facts using the television ratings lol, I don’t watch the main roster and haven’t for years, I personally believe AEW is the more exciting wrestling show but to say that the WWE is a sinking ship when they made record profits during the middle of a pandemic is stupid.

He's right though. Most of the WWE fans haven't left for AEW, they've just left wrestling altogether.

AEW has a smaller more passionate fan base, kinda like ECW. WWE is still the top dog though, and that doesn't seem to be changing any time soon.

Maybe if they said RAW was a sinking ship I could see an argument as it's critically panned and bleeding viewership weekly, even before the NBA playoffs. Smackdown however is doing great work for Fox and is holding well in the ratings.

Ratings are at record lows, Raw used to get 6 million views, and the show is basically unwatchable trash, so yet take your own advice and get educated before you mouth off in the future. I hope he sells it and it dies good riddance its been unwatchable the last 6 years, its almost like a parody at this point.
6 million?! Modern WWE? Or are we talking at it's height?

I can believe that for early 2000s

2010ish and beyond, 2-2.5m seems to be that number. Around There.

Totally agree, but for people to say that the company as a whole is a sinking ship is just nonsensical in my opinion.

Nah even like a few years back they were getting around 3m

WWE like the ufc have shown they don't really depend on fans in a way to generate revenue. Profit I'm sure went down because there's no live shows and other revenue streams dried up due to covid. But compare to other businesses, they did okay.

It's because of tv contracts and with the WWE it's because of the brand. The brand keep it's afloat. You might not be a fan of WWE. Might think it sucks now but you probably watch old clips of Austin and rock on their YouTube channel. Or you might have the WWE network and watch that or documentaries on past content. All that shit generates money for the WWE even if the current product sucks. It's not the main money getter but it helps their profits and of course the mega tv contracts and Saudi Arabia site fee.

LLooks like you're right. Oh shit. I justalways remember hearing 2m
Damn from 3 mil to 1.9 that has got to hurt. I wonder if live interaction shows with crowds will bring back the atmosphere because that thunderdome shit sucks outside of anything Roman reigns.roman is good. I was high on him when people shitted on him
Yeah, even when The Rock returned to feud with Cena about 10 years back they were getting 6m. A lot of the decline also has to do with people just watching TV less as well. Ratings have gone down for everything.

Fans coming back will help only if the crowd is hot imo. If you see AEWs PPV from this past weekend the crowd helped so much with the feel of the product. I dunno how much the fans are going to be into the current RAW product.

WWE was stupid to kill the hurt business before they can even get them in front of a live crowd. That would have helped alot with raw.

WWE were given 2 $1billion deals. Those deals are based on rating which continually fall. So YES WWE aren't looking so good. Vince has huge profits from the TV deals and Saudi Arabia deals. Those TV deals are not going to get renewed with declining ratings. So Vince should sell now. although, any buyer would do their due diligence and see the decline in ratings and how that will affect future TV contracts.

Who the fuck told you that? Raw still gets over a million viewers per week while Smackdown still clears over 2 million (the most previous RAW taping did 1.91 million) while AEW averages between 600,000 and 900,000 thousand.

don’t comment on shit you don’t know because it makes you look stupid.
WWE ratings have continually fallen over the years with no sign of rebounding. They have NO stars. No engaging storylines. WWE is only profitable because of the 2 TV deals they signed. Do you honestly believe that those deals will be renewed at that price with declining ratings? Look at the ratings chart over the period of 20 years. AEW is less then 2 years old and building their company up as WWE falls.

He'll sell it alright...to his kids...for a dollar.

The fans just grew up from watching it.
No. It's a storytelling medium that stopped telling stories. If it went back to being entertainment, people would tune in. The Attitude Era was better TV than anything on Netflix right now. As long as WWE has anything to do with Vince's daughter and his son in law, nothing will change, though. No matter who buys it or not.

Modern wrestling is in a slump for sure. WWE is unwatchable garbage. AEW is closer to being good but they have a lot of holes in there product also. They need to feature guys like Brian Cage, Lance Archer, Wardlow and others a lot more instead of constantly pushing the little guys. People like Orange Cassidy do not belong in the main event. He is a decent hand but should be booked like Disco Inferno was instead of put into main event spots.

Would like to see them bring in Alistar Black, Samoa Joe and Daniel Bryan as well and make a cruiserweight division for the little guys and start getting some credibility for the world heavyweight title with the new additions.

TNA had a lot better roster to work with than AEW but the booking was worst and they did not have the budget. I think AEW will improve but they will have to rebuild from what they are doing now. They have the pieces in place but just need some direction.

If WWE gets sold they need to end the brand split and only feature the best talent they have to offer. Wrestling does not have enough stars right now to have 2 separate brands under 1 umbrella.

M

Wrong, absolutely wrong. WWE is a sinking ship. You be the judge for yourself, get surrounded yourself with wrestling fans and hear what they have to say.

The business is in the ground in general brother. Only weebs and dorks care about it anymore.

Crowd reactions say otherwise.
This is what WWE did, push people who the crowd didn't give a shit about. Terrible move.
