Vince McMahon is looking to sell WWE

ECW had that death match shit. Personally I don't like matches like that. Sabu,Mick Foley were like the only guys that made that match work

Some people get offendedly easily with Graphic Violence, I'm not. so fair enough.

I’ve been a wrasslin fan since the late 80’s and the only time I feel like it’s been this bad to watch is the early 90’s. It’s plateaued and not getting better anytime soon. I have zero faith someone like NBC could fix it. It’s too entwined with “entertainment” than sports based. AEW had the right idea until they went the completely opposite direction with the indy style. I can see Vince getting out with the largest sale anyone could have imagined, his ego is that big.

Great post. Another problem for me with modern wrestling is they are so dumb they think people care about womens wrestling.

No one cares about women on a wrestling program unless they are showing their tits and ass. People will tune in for that but womens wrestling is atrocious.

I am a huge NBA fan and it would be like them putting WNBA players in the game. No one wants to see that. Womens sports are shit.

Wrestling was successful for decades before they started featuring women and the ratings have plummeted since they have been a focal point on the show. A lot of fans dont want to watch women's sports

Is Vince's ego going to be able to handle he won't get as much money for WWE as the Fertitta's got for selling the UFC?

FOX paid a billion dollars for five years of Smackdown.

You're out of your element, Donnie.

Hell the early nineties was better than the crap they put out today. Pro wrestling is dead and I don't think it will ever come back.

A radically different approach to the product, and a few enigmatic personalities can change things. WWE did exactly that in the early 90's, when all the corny shit they were doing got stale and dated, and they recognized it and changed direction. Unfortunately, you won't get that with how the business is run these days. Too many boundaries for anyone to really break out, due to the PC culture we're living in. Nobody wants to take chances and go against the grain.

If The Rock started out his wrestling career ten years ago, he would probably be working at Target right now, instead of being one of the biggest stars in the world.

WWE was able to go public off the success of Austin and Rock. Neither one of them could use their gimmicks today if they were starting out. A lot of the things they did in the attitude era wouldn't be possible now and the attitude era in many ways is what eventually killed the business.

Is Disney interested in bringing WWE to their cartoon and Marvel superheroes brand?

How about Jeff Bezos bringing pro wrestling into Amazon Prime?

WWE Sports Entertainment on Netflix, anyone?

Will WWE be a part of NBC?

Is WME interested running a pro wrestling promotion beside the UFC?

Anything that’s gets him booted to ‘President for life emeritus’ and the fuck out of creative and day to day.

And Dunn. And Johnny ‘Metoo’ Laurenitis. Also Stephanie. And Shane. HHH does NXT.

Imagine presenting a well thought out story line with a long term endgame only to have it crushed by Vince for some lame jokes that are 20 years old...

Hard to know what the future holds for pro wrestling. I was hoping AEW could give it a shot in the arm, but so far it's just a money mark running an indy mudshow with washed up legends and under trained goofs.

I wonder what Vinny Mac will do with all his time if he's no longer running the WWE?

It's doing very badly, most of the fans left for AEW.

<TrumpWrong1>

AEW has had the same niche audience for 2 years with no growth. WWE fans may be tuning out, but they're not switching over to AEW.

Ratings are at record lows, Raw used to get 6 million views, and the show is basically unwatchable trash, so yet take your own advice and get educated before you mouth off in the future. I hope he sells it and it dies good riddance its been unwatchable the last 6 years, its almost like a parody at this point.
Last 6 years?
That garbage has been dead at least 15 years now.

If Vince was going to sell, would it be because he recognizes that he doesn't have much time left and he has little to no confidence in his family to be able to run the WWE properly?

A sinking ship? 2020 was their MOST PROFITABLE YEAR IN HISTORY you absolute fucking idiot, I have given you evidence proving you wrong yet you still spout bullshit.

He's the reason wwe doesn't listen to their fans. Their profits and revenues have literally gone up every year since at least 2004.
